Flashlight saves from outside killer field of view...

The title says it all.
But why is flashlight saving from outside of the killer field of view even allowed to be a thing? Nothing better than staring at a wall while picking up a survivor only to have someone aim a flashlight into my ear for the stun.

The other day someone got a flashlight save off me while I on top of a tractor, facing a wall and they were on the ground behind the wall (far away though).
Totally fair. Right?
