How long does it take for you to recover from Burnout

A fun topic, I’m burned out of dbd right now, even though I want to play it, everytime I’m on the menu I get bored.

how long does it take for you to get over the burnout of games before you decide to play it again?

personally for me it might take me half a year to a whole year

It usually depends on what the latest content update was.

When Skull Merchant dropped I tested out her perks and reluctantly completed the rift challenges so I could prestige my Knight. Then I stopped playing the game until Nic Cage was announced.

I'll probably mess around with the Singularity a lot before stopping again since, unlike SM, he's actually well designed.

I usually take a couple weeks off at a time after binge playing for a couple days. But I've seen people say they take like a year off because DBD tends to be rather slow with core gameplay changes.

    Try Civilisation, or something.

In all serious, it's normal to get exhausted playing the same game all the time. If you want to try keeping DBD fresh rather than taking a break, try doing things you normally wouldn't do.

If you main killer or survivor, try playing more of the other role. Try going for challenges in the archives, or do achievement hunting. If you play a lot of killer but usually stick to a main, try playing some other killers you don't normally play.

Really, no one should expect to play the same game all the time and not get bored of it. I take frequent breaks from this game to play other games, but I've attempted to get 100% steam achievements on DBD, I have the shelter woods achievement that was added with Skull Merchant and its been a fun ride. After that's done I'll probably keep playing for the rift, and then I'll take another break until the next chapter release.

Dunno, left the game December '19, played 3 matches during anniversary '20, and the last time I booted it up is seemingly September last year but probably just for a cosmetic Amazone prime loot code.

Loading into main menu still drains all motivation instantly.

How long is a piece of string? Everybody is different. Me i rotate in and out, i play dbd overwatch and vermintide roughly equally. For dbd it depends on content releases, special events and whether or not my friends will play, but ibusually at least do my daily rituals and a few tome challenges when I'm in a dbd lull. The singularity defo has me excited.

6-12 months here. But while being away I am following the news and I can come back sooner if there is a great chapter.

After the knight it took me about 5 or 6 months before picking up dbd again, and even now I play very little with it (in fact, after a few public games I had to play a few games against bots to get the hang of the controls since I'm rusty like #########)

Depends on how long whatever else I'm playing will hold my interest.

Varies by what we got burnt out by. Toxic players? A day or 2 of something else and back to cleaning. Seeing the exact same thing 10 matches in a row? Give us a week and good as new.

This is a long the lines of a "default" game for when we got nothing better.
