Flashlights are becoming an epidemic

Nothing aggravates me more than a survivor, following the killer around all game and accomplishing nothing. Do flashlight players realize they offer little to no value in any game they're in? I've always loved seeing flashlights when I played killer because its free slowdown, but it's horrible when it's on your team. It's like every game nowadays.

These days, I just try to pip. Escaping is a bonus if it happens but for the most part, as long as I pip, I don't care if I make it out. However, non-flashlight users, that literally just immerse the whole match and never touch a gen, take a chase, etc. really grind my gears.

I just want to learn to use flashlights on controller, nothing personal. Although I only equip flashlights if we're 4 premade. If I'm solo I try to bring more useful perks (I don't bring any items lately)

    Dont know about dodging.

However, there is currently an Archive-Challenge, this might result in more Flashlights in general.

But overall, yeah, Flashlights are still the weakest Item and help the Killer a lot. But I dont mind Survivors trying. The only two times I really get upset are:

    • Survivors trying to use a Flashlight instead of the Pallet I am under.
    • Survivors trying to CJ-Tech.

Seriously, I hate CJ-Techs. They might work in some Youtube-Videos because the Uploader did 50 games for their two successful attempts, but I have not seen a CJ-Tech work on a Killer and neither did it work on me when playing Killer.

Yesterday I lost a game because of it - the Survivor in question managed to go down where two Survivors were already slugged, because they tried to CJ-Tech the Killer. Said Killer had all the time in the world to get me as the last person.

(However, as Killer I love CJ-Tech attempts. Especially when some really bright Survivor tries it two times at the same Pallet while first getting injured and then getting grabbed...)

Although this is not something I'd do, people need to practice somehow. It's how those expert players who are always in the right place at the right time get the important saves.

I sympathise with how frustrating it may get when someone is not contributing, but there are challenges which require flashlight saves and others who want to learn the skills. Also yes, there are those who are just being wankers. It's a shame they are mixed in with the others.

Its because of archive challenge, you need a flashlight save

Usually when people do weird things during matches they're doing archives. Heck some might even be trying to just practice their blinding skills.

Why is it that regardless of what players do though, there's always a complaint about it on the forums? You can't dictate what others do or how they should play in a public match. If you like to, just play with a swf?

Who said Im telling anyone what to do? I didnt tell anyone to stop doing it, I'm just going to lobby dodge and avoid them. Im already enjoying my games much more now.

I don't think I've ever seen a CJ tech in my 2500 hours in this game. I don't know why they still try it when every killer knows of its existence.

I'm honestly super torn on whether or not to dodge when I see 2+ flashlights in my lobby. I once watched two Adam's absolutely take a Blight to town and save me from certain doom in EGC, but it's far more likely that I'll just see people go down in quick succession.

I bring a flashlight practically every game because they make the game way more enjoyable for me, simple as that.

This is usually a 1 out of 50 chance. Flashlights can have their moments, but usually they're just free slowdown for the killer when 1-2 people are chasing the killer when the killer is chasing someone else.
