How is it possible that my Dead by Daylight Cosmetics transferred to my PlayStation account?

Basically the title.

I played Dead by Daylight for ages on the PC through Steam. Noticed that my daughter had downloaded it for play on our PlayStation 4. When I added it to my PlayStation 5 and started poking around, I noticed that several of my at least semi-unique cosmetics were somehow transferred?

I have looked up information on cross-progression and account linking, and can't find anywhere that says why or how this is even possible.

She didn't get a free "Dweard" code. I am not confusing it with "Dwearder". That's just one of the several cosmetics we've got. I have ones from back when I played before we even had a PlayStation 4 or 5.

Anyone that can shed some light on this, I'd like the mystery solved.

    Some cosmetics are given free to everyone. Dweard and Dwearder are a few examples.

    Majority of the Steam Code exclusives became free for everyone back in Fall of 2019 (basically anything thats Ultra Rare)

    In addition to that the Event exclusives from the Howling Grounds and Scorching Summer BBQ Event also became available to everyone
