A definition of camping

Camping is staying at the hook waiting to grab someone who tried to unhook.
Camping is not pushing the direction the survivers will come from, trying to head them off or chasing them as they are running back towards said hook.
Camping is not going for a person who shows up before you even hook the surviver and preventing them from being able to get the unhook because they messed up and took your focus before you could walk away.
If you send the killer messages making excuses for your death because you don't know how to be stealthy and you take off towards them before they even pick up your friend, you're in the wrong. The point of their being challenges for safe unhook is to teach you to wait until the killer walks away and SNEAK to the hook. If you ran blatantly across the map for it don't get mad that you caught their attention. It isn't Camping, it's you expecting the killer to just blatantly ignore your mistakes.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

There's face camping, in which you stand at the hook and guard the hooked survivor to prevent them from being rescued. Then there's proxy camping in which you patrol a short radius around the hooked survivor.
Both of these are camping. If people are immediately unhooking before the killer has even left the hook, then they're bad players.

100%. But I swear people hate mail every killer for no reason. I got accused of camping. The only thing even close I can think of is when I took off in the direction of the most progressed Gen after killing someone and intercepted a Feng min taking off in the middle of the open towards the hook. I encountered her in the middle of the map and the hook was at the far edge behind me! But this happens so often, they accuse the killer of tunneling or camping when you were literally just going for the next person you saw!
I keep track of Gen progress, I don't keep track of who has how many hooks so if you think I tunneled you then you were not making good decisions on things like where to heal.
Many killers don't have any need to even stay within proximity because that's what traps are for. Not to mention the giant noise when the unhook takes place. Usually by then I'm busy in another chase across the map by then so I don't get why these people are making excuses, I guess it's easier then reflecting on what they did wrong.

Just move on to the next match you're saying the same thing that ten thousand others have already said.
Understanding your post it's sounds like you had a easy team that you play sweaty against. Why make a topic looking for sympathy?

These are my definitions as well. Proxying is a little more evil imo, but the situation can call for it. If they push the hook stages to the limit intercepting them can be smart, or if there's obvious scratchmarks around, or a slug or nearly done gen right there as well.
It basically comes down to are you justified loitering about. With one or no gens yet done and none of the above apply, I think that's the "camping" that infuriates the most survs.
