No more Hopium for The Trapper
Someone asked devs yesterday on Reddit what about trapper and if they planning to change him in some way. Long answer short: they don't have any plans for him (they want to keep him simple for new players and his winrate is fine even in top MMR).
So I quess I will not take any more Hopium because Trapper will be probably forever the worst, weakest killer in the game. Oh well.

they...did, though
from the pinned AMA thread
granted "not significant" could mean anything, but "along with a killer update" is not nothing.

So weak he still has a > 50% killrate, aka. a better winrate than the whole survivor role. No need to be that dramatic.
Trapper is not weak. At least not against the average DBD player. I win 90% of my Trapper matches on ladder, the rare ones I lose are almost always against SWFs and making Trapper work against those would be extremely oppressive for the average soloQ gamer (who probably has half of the Trapper's winrate btw). His winrate is good enough considering he's also an extremely unfun killer to face, based on camping and 3-gens.

firstly KR is not equal to winR
secondly, these statistics were taken a year ago immediately after the dh nerf, when the survivors had not yet learned how to use it and the killer had eroption cob and overch
Since then, survivors have received a lot of buffs and killers a lot of nerfs, and a year has passed.
so stop doing sophistry

didnt they just say what the update was right there? About him getting a “naughty bear” skin?

Always the same nonsense.
If they would publish new data right now you would still see that all Killers have decent Killrates and are not performing really bad.
At some point the Killer Community needs to accept that Killer is not in a terrible spot right now and that every Killer (including Trapper) can win against the majority of Survivors.

you literally called the trapper not waek
It makes no sense to prove something to such a baby surv
you would shout that the killers are op even if the killers were deprived of the ability to walk and m1

My biggest complaint with playing as trapper is just lack of grass.
My biggest complaint from a survivor standpoint is that so many play as basement trapper, which just means everyone is going to kill themselves going for the save or everyone is just going to let the survivor die on first hook while the pump gens. Boring games.

It does say the new skin is releasing alongside a killer update, which does make it seem like they're separate things.

Nope, I did not. Trapper is one of the weakest Killers, but this is fine. He is a simple Killer, it is ok that a Killer like him is not as strong as e.g. Blight or Wesker. (The only outliers are Nurse and Wraith IMO, both too strong for how easy they are to use (relatively))
The rest of your post is nonsense as well.
Maybe... it is you who is the problem? And not the Killer you are playing?

They literally say his KR is at around 60% right now.
Trapper is fine against most players. If you buff him to deal with those SWF's that can beat him, he's going to eviscerate everyone else.

Nurse isn't easy to use at all and Wraith is easy to use and not particularly strong.

He's actually fairly strong in the current meta.
4 -
I didn't say wasn't strong at all, but he's not comparable to Nurse in terms of strength.
He's in a good spot right, but that spot isn't particularly strong. Like he's not stronger than he should be for the level of skill required to play him. That's what I was calling out along with Nurse being too easy to be as strong as she is which is untrue because she's actually quite difficult to learn. After all the addon passes and minor reworks to power she's harder to learn now than she was in the past because you don't have the addons to cover for making errors in blinks.

As a nurse main, nurse is easy when you play survivors that don't punish missed blinks, whiffs, dont abuse los blocks, edge map, as well as the environment, and give second chances every moment. Don't get me wrong she's extremely oppressive but shes not unstoppable. 90% of nurses are mid tier. After playing for more than 1500 h I've found out that most of the player base is just bad, Survivors that know how to play against nurse punish her constantly. It's like everyone sees Alf or Knightlight and assume all nurses are that cracked they're not lol. I promise you spend 4 to 5k hours on any killer they'll be cracked though. They could take away the second teleport and it would seem more balanced but we all know they aint changing her or blight due to the power of swf.

I have quite a bit of playtime on Trapper and I personally wouldn't want much changed. I agree with @malloymk about the grass so that I don't have times where I feel I have no power (Game, Erie, Borgo) but other than that traps in lockers. I'm good after that and would find him perfect. I really want to use Darkness Revealed on him lol.

Yes any killer is easy and oppressive to bad players, but that's not my point. I don't base whether or not a killer is easy to learn and play around survivors skill or lack thereof. Nurse is mechanically difficult to learn to play and proportionally she's also quite strong which is my rebuttal to someone who is of the opinion that Nurse is relatively easy and too strong as a result.
The vast majority of Nurse's aren't cracked precisely because she has rather steep learning curve regardless of the caliber of the survivors they're up against and unlike in the past before she minor reworks and addons passes she was difficult to learn, but also had more external tools to cover up for player deficiencies.

I actually...hmmm.
I do think that Wraith is too strong for the amount of skill he needs to be played well, however, I think that's a product of this meta not necessarily of his own independent strength.

I knew they would be swayed by stats. He has a decent kill rate so they are leaving him as he is.

That same data says that nurse has the lowest kill rate in the game. So when are we getting nurse buffs?
0 -
What I meant was their effort compared to the results you get.
Nurse is not easy to learn, but once you have learned her (which does not take that long), you will have incredible results. Other Killers are way harder to use after learning them, but wont get the same results. This includes really strong Killers like Blight, Spirit or Wesker, but also strong Killers who are not at the top like Huntress or Billy.
When it comes to Wraith, he is probably the best Killer ouf ot the more simple ones. Not saying that he will get results similar to Nurse or Blight, but he is not really deep and is fairly strong for basically "Bing Bong Hit".

I'm agreeing with you lol. I hear that nurse is the ggs ez every match, without thought or skill, all the time and it's simply not true.
1 -
Ah, ok I misread it I guess

Learning nurse to the point at which your constantly beating high skill survivors does take a while. Learning that she can blink isn't hard obviously but being consistent and constantly applying pressure with her is. She's a glass cannon of sorts, very high reward high loss, When matched against good survivors. The sheer time it takes to know the blink distance for the cars and trucks on auto haven is a pain lol.
