Really out of the loop... how the hell do I play the new killer!?!??!?!

Hi,

OK, I had a couple of games with new killer and M1'd enough to get the Adept, but from there, ######### is this #########?

So, I put a tag on the wall and have to shoot a player from that to do anything?

The survivors can disable any of my tags with items from unlimited spawns from around the map?

In a chase, I have to use the "tags" to use my power; I cannot put a tag on a player?

How the hell do I teleport to a player!?!??!

I've got more questions than answers, is there anyone who has a clear, concise guide, as the ingame power description is laughable.

Ok, to clarify a couple of things: once you have tagged a survivor you can either posess a turret and keep them in your sight till you teleport to them, or shoot a tagged survivor with your M2 attack, that would otherwise spawn a turret on a vertical surface.

Well, there are currently 5 EMP printers scatterd over the map, and each one spits one EMP out every 90s. The EMPs can be picked up on top of a normal item, not in place of one, but setting the EMP down will make it despawn, and you can't access your normal item while holding the EMP. This leads to the situation that survivors can just pick one up mid-chase if they need one and otherwise just use their items.

    It's not about skill.

It's about clear and concise explanations on how to use the power and then how to use it effectively. A lot of content creators are great at showcasing their individual skill, but don't often specialize in making teaching content. Not everyone can just sit and watch vods or streams of people playing and pick up what to do. Some people are looking for detailed explanations of how the power actually works, what it's limitations and strengths are, etc. etc. Information that isn't maybe easily asked for or gleaned during a streamers session.

    Hey there.

First things first: yes, the survivors have basically unlimited EMPs and are more or less in total control of your power at this point. The EMPs are in for a hot fix soon, but the announced changes don't convince me, that they will tackle the core of the problem, but just peripherially give the new killer a little bit more breathing room. But I guess we will have to see it go live to truely judge this hotfix.

Until then, consider that your power can and will be disabled for good portions of the match. Its usually not recommended to shoot too many pods randomly all over the maps, as they can easily be disabled by EMPs. Its better to use your power in chases, ie a survivor is at the other side of a loop? Shoot a wall with a line of sight and tag them, then try to teleport to them.

Regarding the power: you shoot a pod at a wall and can then jump into that pod with your secondary ability button. With the pod you need to look at a survivor and after the gauge filled all up, you will automatically shoot at the survivor and tag them. A tagged survivor can be shot it from yourself or a second go from one of the turret pods, and if you hit you teleport to the survivor. When you get struck by a pallet during the teleport, the pallet will break. Otherwise you rise up behind the survivor and are in overcharge mode for 4.5s, during which you can move faster, vault faster and break pallets/walls faster.

Usually your first instance of a tag will be cleansed by an EMP at the ready, so you need to plan for this/think on your feet and tag them again, somehow. After you got rid of their first EMP, you still need to be wary of other survivors coming in for an altruistic area EMP blast. Tags/infections can theoretically spread between survivors, but in praxis, when this happens one survivor will just activate their EMP, rendering your infection and any nearby pods useless.

Hey, if you've got a link to any of these, I'd appreciate it.

I've looked at a few of the usual suspects and they don't seem to explain WHAT they are doing to achieve these results.

I'm talking base level HOW. The whole teleport thing seems to be completely glossed over in anything I've watched?

To be honest just go watch people on twitch, there are some extremely skilled killers out there

I've only watched Bronx and he's really good with him. This killer has a high learning curve and involves plenty of multitasking (which isn't something that comes naturally to everyone), so it's really just a case of practice, practice, practice. I've noticed a massive improvement in the Singularitys I went up against yesterday compared to the ones I went up against on release. Yesterday they all got 4ks. Just gotta put the hours in.

    Hey,

thanks, so, I do need to plant the turrets before I can use the power.

It's only from these turrets that I can use the power.

I have to possess the turrets to hit the survivors.

Unless the survivor is tagged from a turret, the power is useless.

I can teleport from the turret, or in chase and it will happen automatically? Confused about this last part

In a chase, the only thing power related I can do, is to possess a pre-placed turret.

The unlimited EMPs can render everything above useless unlimited times, with no effort?

I really appreciate the response and detail you have provided!

    This.

Really not interested in how they are making the most of the power, I'm looking for base level mechanic explanation.

How is the teleport triggered for example, which doesn't seem to be a prompt at any point!

I think you are still missing the coolest part - you can teleport to infected survivors by shooting them directly from your hand. It even has a considerably longer range than when you use it for placing pods, so you can snipe.
