Why am I constantly getting the party creation failed prompt

I want to play survivor but it can take 2 or 3 tries since for some reason I get an message saying failed to create party...what party? Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be if I was inviting a friend or doing custom game? I play dbd alone so why am I constantly getting this message when all the game needs to do is simply load me in as survivor and done.
