Why do are so many new killers plagued with depreciating bloodpoint gains?
For a long time, only 3 killers suffered from having depreciating bloodpoint values on their power: Doctor, Huntress, and Cannibal. For those who don't know what I'm referring to: These killers have some score events tied to their power that give you less and less bloodpoints the more they happen. Huntress, for example, has two score events tied to her power: Precise Shot, for hitting a survivor with a hatchet, and Charged Shot, for hitting a survivor with a fully-charged hatchet. The former awards 500 and the second awards 300—at first. After hitting enough hatchets/fully-charged hatchets, both score events have their bloodpoint gains reduced by half, and eventually, stop awarding bloodpoints altogether, and this happens quickly enough that you can only earn 7950 devoiusness points with Huntress's power—a limit that no other killer has.
After Cannibal's release, they stopped with this bizarre limit on power-based bloodpoint gains for a very long time, but recently, they have resumed this practice. Trickster was the first killer whom revived this practice: Score events tied to damaging survivors with your power depreciate to half of their original value over time. And it's only become more prevalent from there:
-Manifesting near a survivor as Sadako will award a score event that depreciates to half of its original value, and teleporting with a TV awards a score event that depreciates to a mere quarter of its original value.
-Score events tied to damaging survivors with Wesker's power depreciate to half of their original value after 5 instances.
-Most of Skull Merchant's power-based score events depreciate to half of their original value, including hitting a survivor detected by a drone and most, if not all, events related to the killer interacting with their drones.
-Singularity has 6 score events, and 5 of them depreciate to half of their original value.
I don't understand why they've resumed this horridly outdated practice in recent years, and why it's become so much more prevalent on recent killers, with 3 out of 4 killers released in the past 9 months having increasingly restrictive depreciations. I also don't understand the logic behind which killers get slapped with these depreciations—why, for example, do Singularity's score events, which award 300 points at most and 160 on average prior to depreciation, lose half of their bloodpoint gains after as much as 8 and as little as 2 occurances, but Demogorgon, who receives 800 deviousness points for hitting a survivor with their power a singular time, receives no depreciations whatsoever? It makes no sense.
