How do you guys feel about dead by daylight censoring "controversial" words?
And I'm talking about them censoring the words face camping or teabagging things like that in-game

I feel more strongly about the filter being abysmal on everything else. Like perk names being censored. Or random words.
I once tried complimenting a Myers saying "Nice 99'd stalks ! :)" and it came out "Nice #### #### ! :)"
The killer left thinking I'd just insulted them in a fit of rage.

I think the worst part about the chat filters is that it effectively does not censor the actual awful things people say since it's easy to bypass. Meanwhile if you try and mention anything involving the game, the ####'s make people think you are saying awful things.
Causes far more harm than good, therefore it should be removed, in my opinion.

Some censors make sense but stuff like that is ridiculous.
I've had survivors think I was angry because I'd say 'sorry I had to ########, last gen nearly popped.'

I've been saying this since they announced the censor, THERE SHOULD BE AN OFF SWITCH. Then they can censor anything they damn well please so long as people have the ability to not use it if they so choose. Then when it released I wanted the ability to turn it off even more with how idiotic and overzealousit is.

I'd rather have a system where when you see a sentence bleeped out almost entirely by #s, you know that they said something that's actually reportable.
Of course, Steam itself has the best censor system I've seen. Presets like hard censor (censors even profanity), one for the really bad stuff only (slurs and stuff) and of course an off switch. But the best part is that there's a customizable blacklist the user can use as well.
Don't really mind some swearing, but want to add typical troll lingo like ggez to the "slurs only" filter? You can do that. For some obscure super personal reason really don't want to see the word "dingus"? You don't have to.

The filter's extremely heavy handed to be sure, but then again people are a tad too comfortable saying the most vile of things in endgame chat. It exists as the consequence of players not being able to be trusted.

I like it, sometimes it makes basic sentences look offensive which is super fun.

The word filter has only ever has ironic effect for me. I never hurl abuse or offensive language at folks in game but I have had perfectly innocuous messages get mangled so it looks like I’m going off on people rather than explaining I had a challenge or whatever.

I said something along the lines of "sorry it took so long to find hatch" and it just censored most of it. I got flamed afterwards.
