Not sure what you are saying.
You can get the skins without using the cakes but the invitations will be harder to find. Others using or not using cakes will not affect your ability to get the skins in any way.
That said, I agree that it only makes sense to use them every game during the event. Each game where everyone uses a cake should earn each person enough BP to get at least 3-5 more cakes.

They are saying if someone doesn't use a anniversary cake they shouldn't get the cosmetics.....that's just stupid....

This is the second person i've seen complain about people not using the aniversarry offering.
Are you people that oblivious to the fact that it's the first day? Not everybody plays this game 6+ hours a day and hoards millions of bloodpoints you know

I am not taking cakes for characters I don't want to level up.
But I do want to check how their masks look like. I'll take part in one such match for each.
