Nurse calling, BBQ & Chili, Ruins...
THIS, is actualy the only build i see when i'm playing against killers. This tryhard build that force you to take self-care, sprint burst and ######### survivors perks. I'm bored of all of this. I've spend like 1K hours playing the same survivor build Self-care, Sprint burst, Iron will, Decisive Strike (like everyone) and it's kinda boring to play all the same games with the same gameplay. Some extremly used perks need to be nerfed/changed so the players can play different one (and be useful) .

Change your build? Theres plenty of fun builds to run as survivor. Try some of these;
Lithe, Dance with me, Lightweight, pharmacy.
No mither, urban evasion, dead hard, resilience.
Vigil, Streetwise, Leader, Bond.
Wake up, Hope, Technician, (any).
These are just off the top of my head. Alternatively, you could try using perk wheels, those are pretty fun too.
Plenty if things you can do to vary game play.3 -
i'm a billy main. i don't run Ruin which makes games incredibly short sometimes. i don't run BBQ because i agree that its OP on a billy. the bloodpoint gain is nice but i don't need it. i'm maxed out and i don't use offerings or add-ons.... my perks are Iron Grasp, Agitation, Enduring and either Franklins Demise or Nurses Calling..... my best plays are dealing with hook blockers and flashlight heroes.... but once i get past rank 10, i get gen-rushing ninjas.... a diverse perk set and alternate playstyle is useless at higher levels. i'm not going to run the basic killer set just to rank up. i'd rather play how i enjoy playing and stay at lower ranks.... maybe its the way survivors play at high ranks that needs to change....

You can thank me later.

the irony of this salty survivor blaming the killer for using the best perks, while he uses the best survivor perks and calls the killer a tryhard.10

Nurses Calling
BBQ and Chilli
RuinSelf Care
Sprint Burst
Decisive StrikeThese are the holy trinity for killer & survivor, their best meta perks with the 4th being down to preference.
Unless you're doing terror radius Doc, Insidious Leatherface or some other niche killer specific build these perks are the ones you will see most often on killers and survivors.
Until BHVR release something better or buff something weaker that can compete for a perk slot not much will change.6 -
6 Month i've made this, it seems like build didnt change much

I personally swap out tinkerer for shadowborn on billy. Don't really need super insta saws, the addons alone make it plenty fast, shadowborn is really nice for spotting survivors while sprinting around and makes juking the chainsaw incredibly hard.

Nurses.. if you hear a heartbeat then stop self-caring.
BBQ and Chili... hide behind a gen or try to get within range so they can't detect you, tons of high rank survivors do this to make the perk almost useless at high ranks except as a BP point generator
Ruin... how is it any good if it gets taken out before you can even get there?
Now survivor time!
Self-care... allows you to body-block and provides you with one of the many ways of preventing a killer from completing his objective, allows reckless altruism, allows cocky behavior/plays.
Sprint burst... completely negates any left-click killer if they finally catch you doing a generator... just SB to a loop, wow you're pro!
DS... the most broken perk in the game by far, it is the equivalent to a mori without having to use an add-on.

Some extremly used perks need to be nerfed/changed so the players can play different one (and be useful) .You do realize that these perks become a near necessity in order to have a half decent game, right? Most of the time these are all perks you probably won't get much use out of anyways.
Nurses calling? Quit healing if you hear the TR, it's your fault if you get caught.
Ruin? This honestly doesn't have much impact on me as a survivor as I can hit my skillchecks fairly well and even when I couldn't it's just a slight delay. As a killer though, this perk could be gone in seconds or if you're lucky it allows you to actually have enough time to have fun instead of everyone being done in 4 minutes or less and then leaving! On most killers this perk becomes a necessity.
BBQ & Chili? Well, alright on hillbilly and nurse this might be a little strong but what would you rather have? A camper every single game or have the potential to be found unless you play smart and mindgame the killer while also slightly lessening the chance of a camper! On most of my killers I don't use this to see auras (well...unless I'm running PGTW which is really good with that perk) but rather instead for the bloodpoint bonuses because most people I run into don't sit in the same exact area or run in the same exact direction for a year and a half.
Tryhard builds like this are encouraged by the fact that most survivors run the best perks they can get and then this becomes a back and forth issue constantly. Hell, most of the time I don't even run nurse's calling unless I'm also running M&A as I rarely see people heal in my terror radius anyways. In order to play decent as a killer, most of the time you absolutely need to tryhard every chance you get until you finally run into a game where nobody wants to tryhard, only then can you relax.
After nearly 1,100 hours of playing, I've cut down on my use of self-care sometimes by replacing it with pharmacy or instead just go for silly builds that I still manage to survive with. Problem is, the moment we start nerfing perks people are going to want even more perks nerfed, instead of nerfing the decent perks killers have we should instead be buffing the weaker ones so we can see more variety, not less. Same thing can be said with survivor, after DS gets dealt with some other lesser perks should be made more viable which is already being worked on according to one of the Q&A videos made on the DbD youtube channel (For instance, all the exhaustion perks are great and you can actually see some variety in what perks people pick based on preference). You want to talk about tryhards? Look no further than the bully squads that look to do nothing more than harass the killer, look at the 4-man groups that bring in all BNPs and then trashtalk the killer after or even the normal player that doesn't intend on being toxic that in most cases can still get by just fine just by simply using the loadout you have every game. I'm not saying you're wrong when you say these are overused perks, I'm just saying if you want to see more variety then you need to make more things more viable, not less viable.0 -

Love this post. There's various ways to play the game, wish the emblem system didn't ruin playstyles, but nonetheless still ways.
Try using other builds. All you gotta do is practice escaping chases and you'll do just fine.
