So I'm doing my biannual malding..
I haven't played the game in a while, but I decided to once again be angry at the gutting of billy for a few hours, and I started wondering: Did the devs ever explain the nerfs? They went through with the nerfs, and everyone got angry, but the devs just stayed completely silent, and at this point I can only chalk it up to embarrassment.

This makes me cry. Billy used to be pretty strong. Now he is getting weaker with every new map and every map rework on top of the changes they made to him back then.
But one day, Billy will make his return. He'll come flying back with pure rage at the injustice he faced and his revenge will be swift!

Old Billy was broken like Nurse/Blight nowadays. Consistent 4 slugs at 4 gens left isn't something you can call balanced. Nerf was absolutely justified and stop creating those delusional nostalgia driven but completely misleading topics

So you're saying billy consistently killed everyone at 4 gens with no counterplay? I don't know about your godlike level of skill, but playing billy in red ranks was both difficult and rewarding. Secondly, I was asking if the devs made any sort of statement about it, not if you decided to role-play a tree in front of a chainsaw.

Honestly, the worst part about it for me is billy becoming far less enjoyable. He just feels so much.. slower? Man, I just wish he still had spark plug and vegetable oil.

I've worked a lot of jobs where someone with a lot of clout will demand or push for something to be done and get their way even though everyone below them knows it's really stupid and a complete waste of time. Once it's done, you slowly go back to how you were doing it before, but you still have to keep up the pretense of the new thing that person demanded. Pretty sure that's what happened here with Hillbilly.

Considering that overheat is essentially a non-factor at this point, I am inclined to agree with that assessment.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that's what happened. I was kind of just hoping they would give us at least a cop-out response like, "Billy was getting a 52.4% kill rate in pissrank 94, so it was only logical to nerf him!"

Definitely wasn't justified.
Insta-saw was dumb and needed to go. Everything else was fine.
Even if everything else was left the same, he'd still be meh today because of maps
