Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

No grand ideas, just need to vent

Just had my 3rd match in a row tonight where I got placed against extremely high Prestige Survivors in really coordinated groups and got destroyed. And all that after a massive loss streak yesterday trying to improve my Singularity play. I've messaged a few Survivors afterwards and they had at least double my hours in the game, some up to 8 times as many. They're all bringing BNPs and Made for This/Hope/Adrenaline and I can't keep up figuratively or literally. I don't enjoy the strongest killers, but do I have to play them just to have a chance at getting anywhere? Before anyone says it in the comments, I'm very aware that I'm a mediocre Killer, so could I go against some mediocre Survivors please?

I play solo queue survivor pretty much exclusively and one game the team will be co-ordinated and experienced, the next five games they are either brand new and/or terrible at the game. It is just pot luck.

If MMR sucks enough to put you up against people who have played 8x longer than you I don't think switching to a new killer would be of any help tbh.

At first you'd be matched against weaker survivors but you'd destroy them and would very quickly face the same issue again, so you might as well just play killers you like tbh

Edit: also, playing killer when the BP incentives are for the killer side greatly increase your chances of being matched against people out of your MMR because there aren't enough killers logged in, and usually it'll be people stronger than you because there's more veterans than newbies. Also, in my experience playing late at night is when there's only sweaty players left.

The game has terrible matchmaking. Its not your fault.

Biggest reason why when I play killer I'll maybe kill one or two people or just two hook everyone and let them go.

It seems like once you get in a certain MMR bracket you get stuck and forced to be a punching bag.

survivors' mentals due to awful soloq experiences, matchmaking and survivor meta are all terrible and bnp is getting nerfed so everyone is trying to use their pre-nerf bnps asap so i think you might want to wait before trying to have fun as killer.

Best thing you can do is take one or two things from each loss to focus on cleaning up in the next game. It's a cliche, but improving by 1% at a time will pay off in the long run. You won't need to play against mediocre players at that point.

I would just say take a break and play survivor. I fairly often get matched with brainless potatoes though which isn't fun either.

You might as well switch mmr off at this point.
