New Killer: The Hallowed

Janet slams the door shut behind her, breathing heavily after running from that... that thing. She shuts her eyes, in case it's already in the room with her, but she hears nothing and slowly peaks through her eye lids. The house is molding, the walls warping from constant rain and wind, the floorboards are rotted, giving a creak with each step. She takes a breath and calms herself down, maybe she lost it after all.

She begins to walk through the house, moving furniture in front of windows to keep herself from looking outside into the endless abyss one would call the night. Janet finds pictures of a family, a mother, a father, and a daughter. Along with the pictures, she finds letters, and notes to one another... they knew of it, the Slender Man is what they called it.

From the Mother's notes, Janet reads as the woman slowly loses her mind, going insane with just the thought of the creature living in the forest with them. Many times, it reads of her planning to end her own life with her husband and daughter. The moment touches Janet's heart, she understands the fear of this thing, but she wants to survive it, not die.

She then begins reading the Father's Notes, as his mind also goes into insanity, but instead of wanting to die, he wants to fight it, but he doesn't have the means. His letters consist of methods and ideas for a trap, eventually, he grows desperate and leaves the house on his own in his last letter, never returning it seemed.

And lastly, the Daughter, Janet could barely bring herself to read these ones. Unlike her parents, the Daughter was confident, even optimistic, of their situation, it seemed like she really had hope that they could get through whatever this Slender Man was. And luckily, her story continued past her mother and father, she went on to confidently explore the forest in daylight and willingly return to the house. That's insane, who would ever want to return after what had happened here?

But there's more, much more, and so Janet continues to read until she is sure the sun has risen. She reads swiftly, passing through notes of not being alone, having someone by her side... being supported by a person beyond comprehension...

Janet freezes in place, this is what was wrong, was the Daughter worshipping this thing? Janet continues to read and more evidence falls into place, her friend has no expression, she's enjoying the night, and her body is changing into something... better...

Janet isn't sure what to make of this, the Daughter was just as crazy as her parents, if not more. Then Janet got to the last note, reading, "Come Down Stairs Janet"

Her blood runs cold, and her eyes do not move, staying stuck on the words in her hands. A creak echoes through the house, bringing Janet out of her trance. She waits for some time, but something calls her, like a soothing voice telling her that everything would be okay. She follows it to find a trapdoor in the entryway.

Another creak catches her attention, she quickly turns around and sees it, quickly darting her eyes away. Looking at the trapdoor, she doesn't hesitate and goes in, holding it shut above her. She expects some sort of resistance to fight against her, but nothing.

The space beneath is quiet and dark, with only a small glint of metal grabbing her attention. She climbs down the ladder and slowly makes her way to the metal object. She touches it, causing it to swing like a chain, she grips it and pulls, illuminating the room.

The light reveals two dead bodies hanging on the wall, one a woman, the other a man, with another sitting in a chair, holding a dagger in its hands, sacrificing itself. On the wall between the two hanging bodies are the words "Welcome Home Janet" written in blood. Somehow, she isn't scared, she doesn't feel afraid, she feels... at ease.

Janet walks up to the dead body sitting in the chair, a dead woman, and she slowly tears the fingers off the blade. Holding it out in front of her, she sees her reflection, noting that the blade was properly cared for. Though she sees something in the reflection, a black suit, she turns the blade up to see her master, The Faceless.
