A Couple Of Questions

Why is de-pipping still a thing? It’s the single most demotivating mechanic in the game. Nothing like getting paired with a tryhard tunnelling, slugging, camping killer and then you get de-pipped for your troubles. Same as the terrible MMR putting a newer killer with survivors who run them in circles. Losing a pip after a crappy game is like a kick in the teeth.

Why is there a cap on points for skill checks? If we are going to be forced to sit in 45 mins Dull Merchant matches, why are we penalised on the amount of points we can get for trying to get the same Gen done? Same with healing. Sometimes only a few teammates actually heal, why should those who heal have a max on healing points? It’s like we are being punished for trying to do the objectives.

Since the grade system mostly rewards playtime anyway i don't see why de-pipping should be a thing. It only pushes people into playing into playing sweaty for no reason.

I think the whole pipping system could use some tweaks. Some killers are punished for using their power, others easily pip when they get completely stomped and solo survivors have little chance to influence the game in a way that consistently allows them to pip.

If they did this, then I think removing depips might not be necessary. If they don't then depipping should be removed.

I can agree with that. Games should never push you down the ladder when you're not in the..say..top 1000 or something. Very demoralizing..

I agree with removing de-pipping, it doesn't serve much of a purpose anymore.

Caps on bloodpoint categories is generally fair, though, especially the altruism category. If you only stick on the objective and do nothing else, you kinda should get fewer points than players who do more. There's gotta be some kind of incentive not to be glued to generators the whole trial, and right now all we've got for that is bloodpoint categories and rift challenges.

Yes but also pipping and the grades you see have literally nothing to do with MMR, yet its a system that will punish you if you go for a funny meme build instead of sweating with a meta as if you are part of a hive-mind. I usually reach iridescent 1 quickly so i usually don't care that much personally but i don't see a reason why i should be punished going for funny stealth Doctor with no intention of winning for example.

You find the CURRENT depipping demotivating? Where you can lose at most 4 pips, but NEVER lose your grade? Where you can have 100 bad matches with a depip and STILL retain your current grade e.g. GOLD IV?

Let me tell you, before MMR and grades were introduced, the game's matchmaking was based on ranks (essentially the same as grades now). But with ranks, depips would NOT STOP at the ranks you reached. With a string of bad matches, you could totally rank down from Iri to Gold and below! THAT was demotivating!

The current pip mechanic is pretty much irrelevant. It's just there to limit the players reaching Iri too fast. But honestly this and all grades could be scrapped. It's just there for the monthly grade reset and it's associated BP gains. The game could also give out monthly BPs regardless of an arbitrary grade system, just based on the amount of games you played.

Because the people in charge falsely believe that depipping will make players artificially play more, when it truth, I often don't que up for a match when I'm one or two pips away from the next grade, because it's just too stressful or I want to switch to a different killer.

Feeling like playing a game of Trapper? Only one pip away from Iri 2, better bring out Spirit with mother daughter ring!

If the devs want people to play more matches and by extension spend more money on the game, just give repeatable challenges. Killing 10 survivors gives you 50k+ bloodpoints or something.

But hey, common sense ain't welcome in the fog.

    I have a bonus question…

Why do events bring out the worst in this community? It’s been an absolute sweat fest the last two days.

Yeah this has been asked and brought up so many times, I don't blame you. I gave up caring about rank and pipping.

If I depip oh well, I don't care about BP anymore. What's the point, the higher level you are the more you get harassed and tunneled so whatevers.

BP on survivor is really low anyway :( We keep asking for things like hide the prestige, remove depip and fix survivor low BP...but radio silence.

Survivors have to be on the gen when it finishes to get event BP. Survivors end out focusing more on finishing gens than anything else because that's only way to get the event BP, they're limited to 5 gens total of BP, and odds of being on all 5 gens when they finish is very slim. In other events where survivors need to make it to end game or escape its same issue - they focus on completing the gens as fast as possible so they can make it to end game before getting killed so they can get event reward.

Because survivors are more focused on gens and completing them faster to get the BP the killers end out playing more sweaty as a reaction. Killers play more sweaty so survivors play more sweaty... And it's the vicious circle of events like this.

Lunar New Year isn't as sweaty as the other events. Players can die before end game and they still get their reward. The envelopes are collected at the start so it's not taking away from normal gameplay. All survivors still in the match receive event BP when a gen is finished. All the other events push players to play more sweaty because of the way event BP/rewards are handled.
