Lessons I learned today when one pip away from pipping up...
... don't give hatch, no matter how cute the survivors are or how much they wriggle on the floor.
... don't let them graciously wriggle off your shoulder and open the exit gates, no matter how cute the survivors are or how much they wriggle on the floor.
... do tunnel when you can secure a kill.
... don't use special moris, just hook. The devotion emblems want HOOK stages, nothing else.
... become deaf to being called names, toxic this, tunneling that, if you want to pip up, this is the way.
... don't beat yourself up that you ruin a couple of players fun, just to gain 100.000 BP more, a rather trivial amount that you sometimes get in one good game. Rationalize that its not your fault that de-pipping is still a thing in 2023 and that you have to sweat it hard, if you want to get the last couple pips till Iri1.
... pipping up in Iri ranks is REALLY hard. How is this just a function of time played? You need 4 Iri emblems in one go!
... this is frustrating as hell, but what ever. It would be nice to play anyway I wan't all month, but only Iri1 will give me that freedom for a couple of days.
... three Seal Team SWFs back to back just love to knock you down to zero pips once in a while, just to keep the spirts high.

Everytime a survivor in the exit gate runs back into the map and lets me kill them after their team stomped me, I pay it back later and give the last survivor hatch when I stomp.
Let's just say... I haven't been giving hatch.

I feel like alot of matches on both sides would be alot better if depips were removed.

De-pipping should not be a thing in the first place, grades reward mostly for playtime anyway so i see no reason for it to exist, i already mentioned that it causes players to sweat a lot more and here is proof.
I often run goofy builds such as stacking all speed perks on Clown, but when im a pip away from the next red grade? Next survivor team better be prepared with the sweatiest Artist DMS build imaginable, don't blame me and blame BHVR.

Two months ago I was only a few levels from prestiging my main survivor, and when I was one pip away from Iri 1 I played the sweatiest Spirit game in my entire life.
I 3k-d and depipped.

This is poetry. If this were the Steam forums, I'd give you that award. I really wish they would just remove de-pipping already. It's an oudated concept left over from when Rank was MMR. They finally divorced Killer Adepts from the Emblem system, now they need to get rid of De-Pipping too!

Awww, thank you. But yes, I 100% support this.
You need about 90 pips under the current system to reach Iri1. I would propose to just do away with de-pipping besides DCing, and then increase the pips needed to reach Iri1 to something like 250 pips. This everyone can sweat when they like, give hatch whenever they feel like it and play anyway they want all month from day 13 on and still feel like that are progressing their side objective, it would only add to the enjoyment of the game, without taking anything of substance away.

In order to keep you occupied for a while.
If the only direction is up, 90 pips will be accumulate quite fast with the only stumbling block being the 4 Iri emblems in Iri ranks. But having 200 good matches in one month ain't that hard, remember, as long as you don't DC the only direction is upwards.

I think it really highlights how toxic and unfun it's required to be to get pips and not lose them.
I stopped caring about BP, ranks and a lot of stuff a long time ago. It's not worth it. I'm not on a game to hyperfocus on it and sweat myself to death just for some BP, or for any reason for that matter.
Once things stop being fun, that's when I stop.

There are People who don't have time to play that much.
I like being able to quickly grind some Ranks fast if i want to. Which i actually never do but right now i need the BP to P100 my Nicolas Cage.

Okay but like I work part time and I'm a student full time, I want the games I play to feel like games and not like another chore. If people hit iri 1 quickly then good for them but having to go home and think about grinding just makes me not play and go do something else.
On a plus note, I've gotten pretty good at cooking recently..

Why do you care about pips and emblems anymore? At the end it's just a number only you can see.
Are the bloodpoint rewards each month really worth it? If you need more BPs, ok - i guess.

But do you think that 200 pips without depipping would be worse then 90 pips with all the up and downs we have now? I think that it would be a big, phat net-positive with a capital P, while also appeasing the "nooo, I want some challenge" crowd. But the pressure would be out of the system and the curcial 4 pip games werent as nerve wracking anymore.

I think that 90 pips without depipping would be wonderful. Unless you depip more than you pip- which I do on the survivor side and definitely don't as killer- then more than doubling the required pips is a net loss.

I'm one pip away from iri 1 and so I shut my game down for the night. I just know if I pushed it with another game I'll probably end up tunnelled and depipped, and I dont need that negativity so close to bedtime.
