Hey Devs, are y'all going to address Singularity AND his tome?

No one is playing him. He has a tome out and still no one is playing him.

Why no one is playing him is pretty universally agreed upon. The EMPs make his power unusable. Even if there were no EMPs his power mode doesn't last long enough to do anything with it. Overclock runs out well before you get a hit. You also get super stunned at pallets while it's active.

Then his challenges are unrealistic. I understand they are challenges for a reason but they aren't even remotely realistic in being achievable without cheesing survivors farming with you.

You will never ever naturally do his challenges because his power is unuseable.

You are literally stronger by just being a basic attack killer and ignoring your power completely because it slows you down to set up just to be cancelled immediately by survivors and you are just basic attacking anyway. Just skip the time wasting set up step because you will be basic attacking because of EMPs anyway.

I played him but as you say some of the challenges are incredibly hard to do.

Did you see them do anything about Knight or Hostage Merchant?

Also, there are some playing Singularity, and those few are quite good at playing it.

You can’t use him as a patrol killer. You have to use his power during a chase to get all the value

This is true to an extent, as you dont want to chase as much as you want to harass similarly to Hag. You want to patrol a specific area, apply slipstreamed at any opportunity, and essentially play hit n run.

Now that being said in the middle of a chase its not a bad idea to quickly switch to a pod surveying a gen or a recently unhooked Survivor to check if you can get a cheeky slipstream. Dont lose much distance doing this, and it could buy you quite a bit of time and maybe even got the snowball rollin

I may have had to throw the match to do some of the Singularity challenges, but I was still able to do them in one trial. Teleporting next to an EMP cache is just really random, but slipstreaming a survivor with a pod placed in the same chase is straight up throwing the game.

After doing those challenges, I don't feel like playing singularity anymore, only doing the bare necessities.

Ehh? I’m mixed I’ve been playing singularity and when I use his power I do it like this

I get to a loop I shoot a ball I lock onto the survivor infect them. Then I chase them down and they can never get away. I’ve 4k about 3 in a row with him doing this strat don’t patrol teleport.

He’s strong as ######### in chase when you know what your doing but I see your point cause once again emps can take his power away

At least he's not miserable to face as survivor, unlike the last two gen defense killers. I think he's far more fun to play than Skull Merchant as well. Killer is a W in my book, shame a lot of people disagree.

I actually have been playing a decent amount of singularity these last couple days and don't feel like the emps are op. But I also haven't been playing these last couple months so my mmr is probably alot lower now and I'm just not facing the best survivors. But is still think his power is useable and fun but that's just my opinion.

That's gonna be the major difference maker with this killer and really any high skill floor killer

Beating Singularity is fun because how to defend against him is easy to understand and extremely effective. You feel that you're on a sort of even footing and it is easy to tell if the person playing him is good with him.

On the flipside playing him kinda sucks. It's a lot of work without a equally worthwhile payoff and thus it doesn't feel like you're rewarded for investing time to develop the skills necessary to be good with him. This is compounded with being so easily countered in a way that is non-negotiable. It doesn't matter how good you get as your power will get shutdown just the same as if you had no skill at all. You never get to a point where you feel like you're on even footing.

It looks like you either play with extreme dexterity, swapping between pods and teleporting, or you play like Hag and camp gens and hooks. I don't think either are super appealing to most players.

personally, his emps are fine. But his cameras are so jank (sometimes they wont shoot onto something or they wont even track anyone even though youre looking at them), it takes a bit to track/teleport to someone, and his overclock runs out too fast. this makes him miserable to play as

The problem with this being that Singularity isn't meant to be JUST a zone control killer, he's a aggressive chaser and pallet shredder with cross-map surveillance

If you are playing him like Skull Merchant, you are playing him wrong
