I have a bad feeling Chapter 30 is Five Nights at Freddy's

The reason you see mostly groans and complaints besides the myriad of inherent FNAF based story telling issues is because for like two years straight we had a ton of FNAF fans who would hype themselves up during every chapter release that Spingtrap was coming and were literally blowing up the forums only to be massively disappointed when it wasn't the fabled FNAF chapter and turn nasty. It didn't help that dbd leak twitter kept gassing them up much in the same way they gassed up Predator fans only for them to get their hearts broken, but rather than learn from that experience they just kept getting suckered and flipping out.
A lot of them ended up getting banned for spamming the forums too hard and the ones who didn't had lost any good will neutral or FNAF haters in the community did have towards them. They have a overall reputation of being annoying to a degree we don't want to deal with them at all.
At the end of the day DBD often draws in the more maladjusted terminally online members of other horror fandoms and clashes happen. In this case though the clash came from them not getting what they want and turning desperate and feral with any level of disagreement. Every chapter release became some sort of personal slight to the FNAF fanbase in their eyes and after a while that mess got old. It got to a point where some of us started saying to just give them a FNAF chapter just so they would freaking chill out.
It was a weird time, but eventually they either went away, got banned, or finally learned to calm down and stop letting leakers gas them up to the point where nobody wanted them in community.

If we are going to narrow it down. It’s not Me3an cause the devs said it’s a BIG L a BIG LICENSE. Megan just came out she’s not iconic enough.
The only killers I can see being solo this chapter is Predator, Pennywise, Chucky.
I would say Springtrap but they did say Big L. I don’t know if he’s that big enough to get into the game.

Thanks for clearing that up, I seem to have joined after most of the FNAF hype kind of died down. (which is because said accounts got banned)
I've been a FNAF Fan since it came out, granted I was in my late teens-early twenties at the time so I wasn't swept along in the massive hype that FNAF ended up becoming. So a part of me does understand people's want for Springtrap to join the DbD line-up, he has a fantastic design IMHO, and I can also understand their frustrations at being disappointed over and over again.
But yeah, I agree that the members who were disappointed had to right to come in here and stir up trouble, especially since they had themselves to blame for getting swept along in what was a rumour mill at best.

So let me get this straight it's cringe to have a robot possessed by the child murder but it's not cringe to have a alcoholic dieing clown or a mother fu anime k pop star but yet have a character with lore I'm not mad I love FNAF but I'm really tired people saying it's cringe those 2 killers are more cringe

The huge amount of things they can work with in FNAF is only there if you want it to be. Anyone who doubts FNAFs inclusion for one reason or another is fooling themselves at the end of the day. FNAF is a "when" not "if". Not being a huge FNAF fan myself, I'd love to run around a spooky Pizzeria. Animatronics always scared TF out of me when I was little so I resonate with that fear I suppose. The Singularity brings some of that fear, but it doesn't have that shady trait of false innocence that would come with something like FNAF.

After getting Alien, I'm positive it's Predator now. Both owned by Disney now, both connected to each other through those god awful AvP movies (sorry, just my opinion!)

After watching the King/Paulie Esther interview with Cote, I'm leaning towards Predator. FNAF is the only other 'capital L' license I can think of that Cote didn't basically say isn't coming so I think it's one of those 2.

I hope its FNAF. It would be the most hyped chapter to come to DBD since the first Resident Evil chapter. They could do so many cool things with a FNAF chapter. Just the idea of having a Fazbear's Pizzeria map has me very excited. We'll just have to wait and see!

I don't care about FNaF being cringe, since, like someone else already pointed out, the skull merchant exists, and it's going to be really hard, if not outright impossible to beat her. That being said, I wouldn't want a FNaF chapter in the game, mostly because it's creator supports some really bad people.
It'd be a really weird look, is all I'm saying.

I'm not really fussed whether it's FNAF or not, but personally it's not scary for me and BHVR visual designers have proven themselves very adapt, so they'd probably make a far better animatronic killer.
There are still many potential killers out there in the world of video games who would make killers which would be more interesting to me. To name a few:
Walter Sullivan (Silent Hill 4); Daniella (Haunting Ground); Pious Augustus (Eternal Darkness); Big Daddy (Bioshock); Vaas (Far Cry 3); Scarecrow (Arkham Knight); Ruvik/ Stefano Valentini w. Obscura (The Evil Within series); Bloody Mary (The Wolf Among Us); Lady Dimitrescu/ Jack Baker (Resident Evil series); Psycho Mantis (MGS); Vladimir Makarov (CoD); Mr Scratch (Alan Wake); Stalker (Amnesia series)
Basically, BHVR haven't even scratched the surface of potential in video game killers. I've highly likely missed out some really obvious ones too.

The only thing for me that hints at Fnaf is that its a killer only chapter. Can't get many better opportunities than that.

I think the perceived cringe aspect comes from the younger audience (Who are now becoming adults) which I think would be great for the game since while killers like Myers, Freddy, Ghostface and so on are amazing franchises they all appeal to the same demographic more or less but FNAF potentially could bring in a lot of new players.
Also as an aside I wouldn’t mind a Vanny skin for Legion..bonus points if she skip walks.

It's got a better shot now that the film is actually a project that's near release instead of in development hell.
It will depend on how well it's received and what gets showcased, but I stand by what I said previously. The best bits of FNAF aren't in the actual games, but in the books which have infinitely less reach even in the larger FNAF fandom. The closest they've come to really integrating the interesting bits in a weaponized fashion has been Security Breach which the fandom doesn't seem to care for, but those outside the fandom appreciate more. I don't see a world where they make Glamrock animatronics the featured killer for the chapter.
So going strictly off the classic FNAF looks and lore it doesn't matter if that choose AftonTrap or a Nightmare animatronic there isn't anything there that serves as an interesting power. The game needs more killers with interesting powers and working with a license presents opportunities and limitations. Considering at this point it's foolish to trust that the devs really get what's actually interesting, skillful, and fun for killers or survivors it's much more likely that this chapter is a cringey nothing burger.
Not everything that is horror is necessarily a good fit for DBD. I want people to have what they want and enjoy, but you gotta look at the game you're dealing with here and recognize how limited it truly is.
If anything, FNAF would be better served by having it's own Asym horror pvp game. That way the ip could truly be allowed the best possible chance to shine, there would be more games in this genre, and the overall limitations of this game's design wouldn't weight down the creative opportunities that do exist in FNAF's cadre of characters. It can even serve as vehicle to push more of their lore in other places into the gaming space. It would also ensure that I could play Roxxanne Wolf my favorite FNAF character.

It doesn't have an L in the name. False statement.
0 -
But you know who does have a capital L in their name? Matthew Lillard, who is set to appear in the Five Night at Freddy’s movie!
There’s no way you can deny it. We are getting Matthew Lillard. The L has spoken.

They are also connected by an older line of comics and a couple of games.
0 -
But with that logic, we could assume other chapters and people, too...(not to be a party pooper, just stating the logic)

I wasn’t actually serious.
0 -
Yeah but for the purposes of DBD they're more likely to reference the events/lore of the movies over the comics or games.

This would actually be dope as hell, i loved Saw X.
