Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Has your controller ever disconnected midmatch, making you unable play? Read this

I play DBD on Epic Games through DS4windows on a Dualshock 4 and for nearly 2 years now, I'd have a super annoying issue where if my controller lost connection for whatever reason, the game absolutely refused to recognize the controller, leaving me unable to play the remainder of the match. Only way to fix this was by restarting DBD, Epic Games launcher and DS4windows each time it happened. I've looked around on google and in the search bar for a solution and haven't found anything.
Here's the fix:
- Make sure Epic Games and DS4windows are not running and that HidHide is hiding your controller with it plugged in.
- Open DS4windows and navigate to the "Output Slots" tab and choose the controller you have connected. Click on the option to the right that reads "Dynamic" and switch that to "Permanent". Hit accept and boot Dead By Daylight.
- Go into the killer tutorial and try disconnecting and reconnecting your controller a couple times to see if works.
This would've saved me a bunch of matchmaking bans and thrown games on m&k had I known about this sooner, so I hope this helps out someone.
