Can't Place Turrets in Indoor Maps?

Hi all, just had a game vs Xenomorph on RPD East Wing. I picked up a turret by a gen near rooftop and went to place it there and realized I literally couldn't. Then I walked ALL over the top right side and...couldn't put it anywhere. Not being able to place it in indoors, PLUS the fact that there's no drop mechanic, feels really really unhealthy.
Can we get a way for these to work in hallways and small rooms AND, more importantly, a way to insta-drop these while carrying? Thanks!
