Would it be good or bad if getting burned by a turret made Xeno drop survivors?
It seems like a reasonable reaction to getting toasted...

Can I use the survivor as a meat shield for the fire since I'm kind of dangling them in front of me though?

It would be also reasonable if survivors just burned to death when that happens, but it probably won't happen for balance reasons.

No i dont think the turrets should have any effect on xeno when not in crawler mode, other than making it take longer to charge the crawler bar.

Sure, but only if it's because the survivor died from being held in a flamethrower.

right, so you get free decisive strike for placing turrets near hooks. almost like build-in sabotage on hooks. that is definitely not going cause the killer to have to slug entire game. /shrug.

From the gameplay standpoint, turrets will be too strong and annoying for the killer. From a funny standpoint, the survivor will also get burned and suffer the permanent hindered effect for the rest of the match.

Having turrets be a deterrent to hooking would not be a good idea.

It's an instance where gameplay has to take precedence over "real world" functionality. The killer wouldn't have a means to react and destroy the turret while carrying the survivor. Depending on the hook location, they also wouldn't see the turret before they walked over to try and hook.

Turrets are supposed to be a counter to Xeno himself, not a core game mechanic that all killers share. It would be so unfair if every other killer didn’t have something like that yet Xeno did.

No that would be too strong.

unhinged balancing idea. no.

Bad. I get the idea, but gameplay should be above realism here. Yes, it would be realistic that Xeno would drop the Survivor if it gets burned. But this would make Turrets basically portable pallets for Saves.
It would also remove the purpose of the Turrets - currently they are not doing much against Xeno in the way they are intended to work (which should be looked at). But if this would come into the game, I would never put a turret in a loop or anything (because it would be ineffective) and rather put it next to Hooks.

It's a horrible idea, and I don't think it requires more elaboration.
Yes, in terms of common sense, you'd think it would force a drop, but it'd also turn the surv into a crispy critter, so what seems sensible probably shouldn't apply here. I mean realism isn't the name of the game here.
Unless you add a mechanic where Xeno can use the turret to mori the carried surv. Like as soon as the turret starts up, the killer gets a very hard skill check; if they fail, they drop the surv, if they hit it, you get a barbeque mini-mori. Could be fun.
