Guess there's a way to disconnect killers from games?
Two games tonight I've been disconnected (counts as penalty for me) while winning and received messages from people claiming to have disconnected me.

people on the forums cannot help with this, if this is a thing and someone knows anything about it they won't share it on the official forums. This is something you need to report to the devs

Yes. It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. It's fairly obvious when it does.
It typically happens to killers, and the same ways. The match is going about 50/50 or the survivors are ahead. Something happens that causes it to snowball in the killer's favor.
1. You're about to run down someone who's on death hook. Survivor suddenly starts running in a straight line and your swings pass through them. You can't use your killer's powers.
or
2. You're carrying a survivor to be hooked for the third time but can't interact with the hook or drop the survivor.
You're kicked to the scoreboard with an error like "network is not responding" or a disconnect error. All survivors get a free win. Killer loses everything and gets a DC timer. In some cases you may suffer other issues, like not being able to connect to anything online for a while, or have to call your ISP to have them reset your connection.
It used to happen so often that I had to get a VPN to help out preventing it. It's not perfect, but it's done wonders so far.

Console or PC?

Isn't that just DDOS-ing? I honestly thought the devs had this under control.

PC
I dunno - Multiple times in one night is a bit nuts, though,
Seems fair :(

Does it only affect the game or is your connection compromised otherwise as well?
Because, if it only affects the game, then it can't be a DDOS, right? It does sound suspicious though, that it happened multiple times a night.

Seems like it's just a hack that lets someone disconnect a player at will.

It's a hack unfortunately, I played against a surv running faster than me recently, he could also do gens instantly even blocked by corrupt, I stayed afk in a corner and he got bored, disconnected me from the game, he was bragging about it in chat like "i did you a favor" or something, EU server is infested with hackers after 11pm/midnight

They absolutely can.
Nowadays its more common to just crash the server altogether though, disconnecting everyone without penalties.
While the DDOSing issue isn't completely solved, there seems to have been some sort of patch in the past couple of months. Didn't get DDOSed once in a long while.

Yes, but not exclusively. Rumor is there's an updated set of hacks that can punt people without having to take out the main connection. Although the total effect isn't as bad, it also hinders collecting data through your ISP to submit to the authorities.

Yeah - it is 100% the case.

Happened again...
Downed someone....ooops, not downed....downed them again....oops, they do the tell-tale 'stutter walk' I'm frozen in place.
I hit escape - Their ping is crazy high...
Game disconnects - Shows that I DC'ed and I get a penalty when it's clearly someone just pushing a button on their end.
Pretty disgusting.

The servers are on fire today just don’t play or you could get DC banned

This started happening to me after the Xenomorph DLC came out. It's fairly rare, but the symptoms are the same. When it happens, it happens multiple times in one day.
I'm on PS5.
