Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

So many subtle cheaters, it is insane...

I am noticing more and more cheaters in DbD o nthe killer side. On the survivor's side it is harder to notice.

Often a wallhack or a speedhack.

I've also noticed an abundance of hackers recently.

Killers that start the chase with bloodlust 1, or survivors that have MFT while healthy are the most annoying.

More blatant ones are just obnoxious. Survivors speeding up to mach 10, phasing through bounds, using DS without even being hooked or having it, teleporting. Killers running at bloodlust 10(like 7.0) when they can't win a chase... sometimes even teleporting. I once saw a huntress move at blight rush speed after getting looped around the same tile for 4 minutes.

Hackers seem to be getting much more common.

I don't know if it's hacking or the game being...the game, but I've had huntresses axe defy the laws of physics and hit me by going around and through walls, same with tricksters knives.

Wish I knew their secret. I tried throwing some darts the other day and they didn't go through walls or turn themselves and go sideways like a homing missile :(

funny enough I just went against a cheater who was faster than me and body blocking me the entire time then tried blaming mft lmao

BHVR needs to do another massive ban on cheaters. There was a few months of relative peace after the first one. Sadly they don't care until it starts effecting their money..

I don't think it's a lack of care. Cheaters try to find new ways to cheat. As bhvr closes old methods and ban accounts, they get new accounts (easy with the free accounts from egs) and find a new way to cheat.

Cheaters are always going to come and go in waves.

Nah, that may play a small role but they seriously just don't care enough to issue full hardware/IP address bans

Another great use of Distortion, which is an under-rated perk.

Somewhat disagree. Subtle cheating has been lessened because they've realized that it's rarely punished...now they've mostly moved onto blatantly cheating, lol.

I made the mistake of wanting to play a couple of games this morning.

Trial #1: A survivor's sacrifice progress never started ticking down. There were no perks in the lobby that do that.

Trial #2: Lithe into Dead Hard. It was DH because I saw the animation play when I swung.

Trial #3: A survivor disabled my ability to gain bloodlust. I made sure to stay in chase and not do anything that would break it. Even after a solid minute I was still not getting bloodlust 1 (I didn't have the Xeno perk).

That's it then. I'm removing all perks and 8 hooking for the next 20-30 games and see what lower MMR is like when it comes to cheaters. It literally can't get any worse than this.

You have to get used to Cheater/Hacker in DBD since there is no automated cheat protection.

Otzdarva recently posted a video where he run into 3 obvious cheaters in a few hours. There are alot more that are just subtle and no way to ban them.

Still people will spend there money in skins and cry about how bad the game is and that is the real problem and that is also a reason why the priorities are that way.

If you have no fun, don't support it.

Just scrolled through 6 months of otz and didn’t see a cheater video. Please link.

A lot of the “cheating” examples I see in here probably have easy explanations. I’m not seeing all these cheaters y’all are seeing lol.

That's exactly the problem and a sad fact, the typical DBD average player doesn't recognize subtle cheaters due to their lack of gaming experience or doesn't play enough to encounter the obvious hackers themselves.

I can guarantee it's worse than they think. In 2022, BHVR confirmed that it had banned 60k cheaters; in 2022, mind you, the number of unhandled(subtle) cases is much higher.

    The video:

Don't let the title fool you. The Cheat Festival starts at 5:20

To be fair, it’s Otz, and the same cheater. If somebody were to cheat for the sake of attention, they would target people like Otz.

I don’t believe all these people are experiencing cheaters at the rate they suggest, if at all.

Thank you for confirming my previously stated statement.

We definitely agree that there was at least one cheater in this video. The last two (dwight survivor) are debatable. These could really have been twitch streamers and were exceptionally unlucky with the skill checks several times, but we can confirm this wesker was a cheater.

Now it has been officially confirmed by BHVR (you can research this) that 60k accounts were banned for cheating/hacking in 2022 alone, which, by the way, corresponds to around 165 accounts per day. Aside from the fact that this is an immense achievement by BHVR and all the players who took the time to report and ban these scammers (ticket, video evidence), it is quite shocking that there are still players who believe that there are no cheaters in this game because they themselves (for reasons already mentioned) have not had this experience.

I have to smile a little now because it reminds me a lot of the Flat Earth Society. You can also overwhelm them with facts and try to explain to them that there is a problem with their theory, but they are still happy in their world.

What else needs to be noted: BHVR is not to blame here either. It's the players who decide to cheat, tunnel, camp, tbag, dc's, etc. Unfortunately, the community is the real problem in the game, as sad as it is. If you look at what the developers have improved since I started the game (early 2018), it's an amazing achievement and really need to be mentioned at this point. However, many problems still exist and a lot of that lies with the players themselves.

I didn’t confirm anything. I’m not the “typical DBD player”. I have been playing since release, and I play a LOT, every single day. More than enough that I should be experiencing all of this “subtle cheating” and “blatant hacking”.

The facts you’re bringing up are from 2022, when very blatant hackers were in 2-3/5 of my games. BHVR has since implemented changes, and we are nearing the end of 2023, and I have not seen cheaters since.

Am I saying cheaters don’t exist? Not at all. But I would be willing to bet all my chips that all of this “subtle cheating” people are complaining about, is copium for not being able to catch survivors, or vice versa can’t last more than 10 seconds in chase.

Proof of that, is in my own post - game chats when killers and survivors alike (playing both roles) accuse me of hacking simply because I’m better than they are and they needed an outlet to cope.

It's really difficult to see them but some of them seem pretty obvious. I just report them in game (no tickets though, ######### that terrible system)
