Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

How to earn two pips in one killer match?

I am shocked because I only play killer at night for a little while, but I've done really well this season!

How do I get two pips per match like I did in this photo? Sometimes even when I kill everyone I only get one or none now.

Kills themselves don't contribute too much to much - you also need a lot of hooks. If too many die without being hooked three times, you won't get double pips. Bleed out everyone with 0 hooks and you may even depip at 4k.

You could look up the exact math for badges on the wiki - the above is only a very simplified version.

Try for 12 hooks and don't camp. That's the simplest explanation.

Be a horror movie killer. It's a strange balancing act that you both have to play with your prey and brutalize them at the same time. Use your power effectively and constantly keeping everyone hurt, make sure not to many gens get done, and kill them all.

You have to do two things to Double Pip:

    • Win
    • Entertain the Entity

The first thing is obvious, the second thing is the Lore-explanation why you cannot just slug 4 Survivors, hook them all afterwards and expect a Double Pip.

However, Pipping on both sides is kinda wonky. Because you dont only have to play well, but the other players in the game also have to play in a specific way.

As Killer, you have to play well. And also hope that the Survivors are good (they need to unhook people, otherwise you cannot get enough Hooks for example) BUT they cannot be too good, otherwise you might lose or take too long to down them.

(As Survivor you have to play well. Also the Killer has to play good, otherwise you finish the game too fast BUT they should not be too good, otherwise you die. And of course your teammates need to be somewhat decent so that you can escape BUT they should also not be too good, because then you might not get points in other categories.)

Play a killer that will use their power A LOT and will also focus on chase (no Hag). Ideally, they also shouldn't be too weak. Blight, Huntress, Wesker, Oni, Dredge, Xeno and Nemesis are pretty good for that job in my opinion. You will want to use your power a lot.

Use a build that plays into your strengths. A bit of slowdown and information will be necessary. I advise against any exposed perks because they would cost you chase points.

Next, you will need at least 9 hooks, kick gens every now and then (just enough to keep them from getting done) and focus on chasing. As long as you keep getting quick downs and can control the match, you can manipulate the game to give you the double pip. If you are about to win and you notice that you still haven't maxed out chase points, then start chases and leave them again. Also, don't give survivors too many opportunities to heal. It's fine if they heal a few times but spam healing is not good for pips.
