Litte to no Cosmetics for some Licensed Characters?
Laurie, Ada, Rebecca, Quentin, Nemesis, Freddy, all of these Characters seem to have one thing in common.
None of them have more than 1 or 2 Cosmetics or they dont have any cosmetics at all.
Now, this isn't really Behaviours fault. It's the License holders one as they get to choose what gets authenticated and what not.
Yet to some cases, it seems strange and makes me wonder if BHVR even acknowledges the lack of Cosmetics for certain Characters.
The best example for this, is Resident Evil. Rebeeca currently has 1 Cosmetic aside from her Base Cosmetic and a ugly christmas Sweater during Christmas.
Yet someone like Jill or Leon has more than 3 Cosmetics and more than 1 Legendary.
Which in this situation would mean the License holders would have been extremely open about this and granted BHVR to add those skins.
So with this open-ess, why doesn't Rebecca or Ada recieve any new cosmetics? Especially considering that both of them have at least over 5 useable ones you could use in DBD.
Or for example, to add an Legendary Character to both of them, like Ashley from RE4.
To Freddie and Quentin it unfortunately seems like the License holders are strict, but then again to a Franchise like Halloween that even recently allowed Fortnite to make a Micheal Myers Cosmetic and Emote?
Yes, we dont know the situation and theres definetly no one that could even tell us this, but lets be honest, we also dont know the situation on if the License holders are even as strict as depicted.
It's just wierd to see that these types of characters that do have an option to get new cosmetics just get plainly ignored in this kind of way and are always stuck with the same Cosmetic for decades.

You can kinda tell they didn't expect to be getting a second RE chapter when they released the first. Chris would almost certainly have been (one of) the survivor(s) to oppose Wesker, while now he's relegated to being a skin for RE Male Survivor Leon.

License cosmetics are always going to be up to the license holders. Some are more willing to allow them than others.

To some degree it feels like BHVR might want to limit the licensed cosmetics options to not overshadow their original content. It’s not really something we can prove one way or the other and we won’t get any confirmation on this. But they have kinda used this argument for anniversary chapters to be original again - and it does make sense: for licensed cosmetics they only charge auric cells sure, but they have to give the license holder parts of the income of every sell while original cosmetics will go directly to BHVR alone.
also creating licensed cosmetics might be to resource intensive compared to the actual profits from it when it’s not for recently released characters.
(I also kinda have the feeling this might be at least one of the reasons for Netflix to withdraw Stranger Things from DbD - they seemed very open and willing to add further cosmetics for their characters in DbD after all..)

I wish Bill got the same treatment than "regular" license holders. Last outfit he got was in 2021.

They could at least give Ada her new outfit from RE2 remake. Maybe give Rebecca her basketball uniform too. They could also pull from other games and the animated movies as well.

I still want the myers mask with the white hair.

He’s not a skin per se. He’s a legendary which means he’s technically a new character (new voice lines).

...which you need the original character (Leon) for to use.

I get your point—you can’t get him without having Leon. He still counts as a distinguished character.

With Netflix, that particular company wants to monopolize their original licenses on their own gaming service which is kinda floundering atm. They also just have weird priorities that make no sense other than finding ways to generate profits with minimal investment. Hence, pushing a Roblox crossover that's one of many dbd clones built in Roblox and then kinda just going radio silent.
