Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

We are close to 2024 and still no cross progression..

We all know that us console players really wanna switch to PC cuz console is having massive disadvantages, like we can’t play range Killers, we can’t spin Killers with high sensitivity and there is no chat on console. When will cross progression be enabled? I have 3.5k hours on PS5 and I really regret not starting on PC back then.

Official stance: It's due to a problem that's out of our hands

They have stated already that for Sony and Microsoft systems, it’s just completely out of their hands. And since y’all wanna leave consoles, the console owners don’t really have incentive to actually support this.

Now Nintendo/Switch version is another thing, it was already promised to get proper cross progression but it’s put on hold due to ‚technical issues‘ and there hasn’t been any kind of update since forever - this is were BHVR needs to be called out. For Sony and Microsoft I guess it’s time to actually address the issue to them?

    This is a fail assessment.

I'd only add I wish our PC cousins would consider this problem whenever us consolers ask for Cross Progression, frames, optimization, M&K support, etc. Because most of us aren't willing to throw away thousands of hours, whenever monies & cosmetics, all of it because we're neatly boxed in because we happened to buy DBD on a console.

Just saying "get a PC then" is not a viable solution.

People should stop screaming at devs for something they have no power over. Why is it so difficult to understand...

I never said to just get a PC?? I said to call Microsoft and Sony!

also yeah, console optimization and K&M support as well as basic (and advanced) in-game controller settings are features i have been asking for/supported pretty much all the time…

Oh I wasn't directing that PC part at you, I have no idea if you are playing on one or not. Apologies.

Just a general statement to what I've seen around here as a too-common response to console concerns.

Ah okay. I haven’t really noticed this general statement around though I haven’t really paid attention I guess.

btw I am playing on PC, though started with a controller but have switched to M&K despite not thinking it’s as comfortable. But the difference is BIG! And that’s with the same pc and not considering console performance as well..

Borrow a friend's PS4 or whatever and see for yourself!

    Y'all don't really need those 60 frames anyway! 😂

I have a Switch. And firmly believe it was a mistake to launch DbD on there. Like.. damn is that a not enjoyable experience. I guess at least last gen consoles aren’t that bad? And if rumours are true about Switch 2 even Nintendo fans could be playing DbD next year 🙃

I played DBD on an Xbox1x, the absolute strongest of the prior gen machines, and the performance issues progressively got worse and worse. On my Series X performance was very much improved, but over time many of those same issues began cropping up again. To this day there's maps and status triggers that eat up frames like Pacman.

And our precious Switch cousins, damn I feel they got the rottenest end of that stick. Anyone running killer on those are definitely the real heros.

Pulsar and many others contributed to this forum's biggest thread ever all documenting console issues, sadly to negligible effect. The coding of this game is just not very digestible by any of the consoles.

I've often here said the best decision the devs ever made was to port their game on over to the consoles, and the worst decision they ever made was to port their game on over to the consoles. Still rings true for me.

Because the information is not so easy to find, or trust. They see the developers as the one's in charge and think they can make things happen with ease.

Finding actual credited sources, in an online world where things can be photoshopped and misinformation is spread, is hard.

I'm not defending them, as I'd never scream at anyone, that's quite barbaric behavior, but hopefully it's more clear now why it is difficult for others to understand.

This. This this this. I have DbD on PS4 and Switch and my god, Switch feels so much worse. Survivor is bad; killer is nearly unplayable. I think I've completed all non-glyph challenges across all the Tomes on PS4. Meanwhile, on Switch, there are all these killer challenges that will probably never be completed. Another thing that shows BHVR doesn't realize how bad Switch performance is: Tome challenges reward the same on Switch as on PS4, but killer challenges are not equal across platforms. Not at all. Everything is so much more difficult on Switch. Chasing/tracking survivors. Landing hits. Downing survivors. Carrying survivors. It is one of the most frustrating experiences I've had in any game ever.

The vast majority of Switch killers I've faced run Unrelenting. It's practically a requirement. Most attempted hits miss.

BHVR can't possibly have any idea how bad it is on Switch. The Tome for the previous event had a challenge that required sacrificing four survivors. That was such a miserable thing for BHVR to do. Don't make limited time challenges that require getting a 4k.

On top of all that, they do Twitch drops and completely exclude Switch players. A game shouldn't do stuff that excludes a portion of its playerbase like that, and it shows BHVR has no idea how miserable the experience is on Switch when they're willing to add another thing for Switch players to be unhappy about.

There are simple things they could do to make console life a bit better, like dead zone and response curve controller settings, and brightness/contrast/gamma settings on Switch, but they don't even do that much. Even if I go in the closet to play in absolute darkness on handheld, the maps are so dark it's unplayable (I once thought I was hiding in a corner of a tile on Dead Dawg Saloon... only to find out I was crouching in the middle of the street); I have to play docked.

Sorry, this reply isn't really directed at anyone in this thread. It's me taking a chance to rant in BHVR's general direction. I only wish it meant anything. I am extremely bitter that BHVR announced Switch cross-progression (which is the only reason I bought it on Switch), had a set date, and then canceled it. My attitude towards BHVR has been one of frustration and distrust ever since.

Meanwhile Xbox players.... Also I kind of don't believe it's out of their hands with Microsoft. They're already on GamePass, and sooo many other games have Cross Progression. I literally downloaded the game from the Microsoft store on my PC
