Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Hypothetical DBD Question For Everyone

Screenshot (190).png

So, let's say the developers started developing DbD 2. The developers then go to you specifically and ask "You get to keep 1 killer in DbD 2, the rest will be removed from the game and won't ever be brought back in any capacity. Choosing a killer does not guarantee their survivor counterpart(s) will be brought back, just the killer itself." Which killer are you bringing to DbD 2 and why?

Pyramid head cause he’s literally the main reason I got into this game after dodging it for 4-6 years

First of all, I would start crying.

Second, Myers because he's got that unforgettable horror and jumpscare vibe.

Plague. Reason being is that selfishly she’s my favorite.

But my non-selfish answer would have to be Michael Myers. Myers and DBD are inseparable in my mind.

    Torn between Trapper and Myers.

Trapper is the posterboy of DBD, and a DBD2 would be the opportunity to rework him from the ground up.

Myers is the franchise icon in the game though, and for many of the same reasons, deserves to be front and centre.

None. I wouldn't care, I would never buy a second DbD.

It's a fair answer. I don't think BHVR has any interest in a DbD 2 because it would mean giving up or renegotiating all the licenses, but just in case they get that idea in their head, but best not to encourage them. They really don't have a good track record with games; DbD is the exception, not the rule.

The killer I enjoy most is Nemmie, and that's in part because of the zombies: they don't suffer from the same performance issues I do on Switch, giving them a better shot at landing a hit on a survivor, even if they do spent most of their time stuck in corners.

I'd tend to agree. Not only the face of the game, but the tutorial killer everyone will see when they first play, and quite likely the first killer they run too. Glad they've finally showed him some sweet sweet luvinz this year.

Yeah, I remember watching videos on the game back in 2016 and Trapper was the one that stuck out the most. He just looked and felt so menacing. Eventually I did get the game mid 2017 and while it did take me quite a bit to commit to him, he was my very first killer I got to P3 and I plan for him to be my first killer I reach P100

Pig. DBD would not be the same without a snoot to boop.

Closely followed by Pyramid Head 'cause I love Silent Hill, and oh, I'd miss Ghost Face. That's the one killer that has actually scared the crap out of me multiple times, lol.

For original killers, I'd miss Legion. I like zooming around and smacking multiple people on occasion.

    Trapper.

If you're gonna keep anyone, it should be the face of the game.

    Trapper.

Face of the game, iconic, really fun to play when things actually align... and if they're starting from scratch with Trapper in mind and all their experience making DBD 1, maybe they'll take some care to help future-proof him better this time around.

I would ask for the pathetic hag, so

    • DbD2 would be a complete failure (like the hag killer),
    • and then BHVR would go back to regular DbD to avoid bankruptcy,
    • ideally with the hag not available anymore in regular DbD 😃

The Knight. I wish i could see what this killer would be if redesigned in a better engine and with a better AI

While there are loads of characters I would sorely miss, and my personal favourites that I'd cry myself to sleep at losing in place of this killer...

... I think Huntress is probably the most deserving killer.

Consistently loved for years by the community on both sides, almost as iconic as Trapper, popular but not overplayed to the point of being unwelcome, well balanced and mostly considered fair at all skill levels, high skill ceiling to grow into.

Pretty much a Killer I can't really think of an objective flaw... only issues are the large axes hitting the weirdly placed hitboxes on runnung survivors and ofc latency, but that's not really her fault.

    Nurse

There may be ‘no guarantee’ of Nea coming with into DBD2, but there’s still a chance😉

    …annnd she floats, so there’s that☺️

The Oni - being one of the best balanced killers I can think of.

Although I'd personally prefer no repeat characters in a DBD2 and a different trial format. Lean it less into meme and more into horror.
