Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Would John Kramer work in dbd?

They've been posting a lot of saw references in tweets leading up to the new chapter. And he's the most popular villain of that franchise but the only reason i assume we didn't get him is it doesnt fit him to just kill survivors on hooks or kill innocents. He always talks about it not being his choice or he doesn't kill the victims, they fail themselves. If its not kramer who do you think itd be? And do you think Kramer would even work?

Mark Hoffman would fit more, because he is a real "active antagonist".

Its kinda sad because i feel kramer made the story so good. The directors think that to which is why they regretted killing him off so early and wanted to bring him back for X. Id love to see him in this game and have him talk to the survivors in like a narrator type thing. Just can't see him be a killer like the other options we have because of his "code".

John Kramer would absolutely work. He has always been a serial killer who likes to pretend like he's a good person by killing people he has decided don't appreciate their life (my personal favorite being the Janitor who smokes and therefore deserves to have his chest caved in).

    Absolutely not.

The Entity would have to change him too much to the point where he wouldn't even be John Kramer anymore.

I also think that if they did think John Kramer would fit to be a killer they would have done it in the first chapter.

I think if we did get another Saw killer it would be Mark Hoffman but he would also fit as a legendary outfit for The Pig (Amanda).

Eh... Not really. At least, not if you want Mr Kramer to still be Mr Kramer.

Thing is, he's an old guy who never goes for the kill himself. He always lets a trap or accomplices do the work for him. Kramer chasing survivors, while technically feasible in the entity's realm, is really not his thing.

Hoffman took the janitor Hank not John. That's important to remember along with the fact that not everyone he targeted he actually had a hand in their kidnapping or the ultimate construction of the game they were placed in. He also unlike his disciples did adhere to his promise to make test that were able to passed.

His reasoning isn't necessarily rock solid in a lot of his earlier games as a lot of them are for revenge rather than a bid to push people to appreciate their lives. The reasoning gets further abstracted once he's no longer around to personally oversee the games and the other pick up where he left off. Hoffman's goals aren't the same as John's, Amanda is an obsessive addict who traded drugs for John's approval.

No, but can you imagine his tape?

"You are here because you tbagged a killer who you ran for 5 gens and who had zero hooks. You must now find the key to your bear trap at the bottom of this jar of rusty razor blades, you have 15 seconds, gg ez"

    😂😂

Probably a better idea, is not making 10+ movies in a franchise that doesn't have that much story to tell. Saw isn't some epic story like LotR or Star Wars. It should have just stayed 3 movies.

I already covered this briefly in my SAW X review in the Pen, but I'll paraphrase it here. They could 100% put John Kramer in whether it is as a cosmetic or a killer slot. I would rather have one of his associates (except Logan) if its a killer slot than John personally. They have everything they need to fit John in as a legendary outfit for the pig.

They'd stop repeating it if people stopped watching them.

This is why i don't watch typical hollywood reboots or sequals from 10 years later. This is why i didn't watch the "new" matrix movie. It's why i didn't watch the new "ghostbusters" movies. Any of the million Halloween movies past like the first 1, maybe 2. etc.

At least when they do this with franchises like marvel they are attempting to continue a large story (even if it misses sometimes). Although honestly i fell off of all that after infinity war.

The only time this ever really failed me was blade runner. Blade runner is one of my favorite movies and i refused to watch 2049 for a long time. I didn't decide to watch it until a few months ago and i thought it was amazing.

You know, that's fair. I had always assumed that because Kramer gave the instructions, Hoffman was just following them but all we see are the "main six" Hoffman is supposed to take. So maybe Hoffman got bored and just snatched The Janitor when he couldn't find anyone else to bring with and just said "uh...it's cause...uh....he....um....SMOKES! Yeah!!! Doesn't care about his life cause he smokes! That sounds Jigsawy, right?"

I stand by the rest of my post though :D
