A trip down memory lane.
Today, me and the Mr Mushwin was on DBD, and we just was remembering the older DBD, we began playing back in 2018, and well we was remembering the good, the bad and the down right ugly lol. Of course some things I loved and wished back, he didn't and vice versa. For him it was the old DS, having to pick up, put down, pick up the surv until it ran out lol. As a Killers perspective from him, he did not like as well the old Dead Hard, and when he played surv he always forgot to use it lol. Mine was, remembering Billy seeing you with BBQ, zooms to you and down, zooms back to the hook, down, I oddly do miss hatch stand offs lol just for the fun, some of the bugs were fun as well to have but not all of them.
What about you? More to the older players who remember such, then the newer ones, what do you miss? don't miss about the game? Of course newer players welcome is just remembering it from how it once was :)

I’m not sure if I am remembering things correctly but when Ghost Face came out you were able to see where a Survivor was looking when they were on the generators. I think Survivor head movements were also more pronounced when crouched? Anyways I thought it was a neat feature. I do miss it.
PS: I remember the DH and DS days… lol

Did you really need to remind me of that? The horrors of DH hit validation are still fresh in my memories.

It's not too long ago but the period shortly before 6.1 was probably the most horrible time I've had playing dbd.
Things I definitely don't miss: Freddy shortly after his rework, dh with hit validation and macro flashlight 4man bully squads.
The last, I kinda miss though. At least the games had lots of interaction.

I've probably forgotten more things over the years than I remember about old DBD but i'll give it a shot.
Things I miss: Piggy before EGC, Perks didn't deactivate during the endgame, DS was actually good, Moris was actually good, Flashlight toggle speed (Beamers just don't click like they use to), maps before their reworks, and more i'll have to edit in later.

I'm a new player, so I can't really contribute much. One thing I do kinda miss is hook grabs, though. I understand why they had to go, but there was something satisfying and funny about being able to go "Yoink, oh no you don't!" when a healthy Survivor went for a save.
I've watched older footage of the game and I do wish I'd experienced the spooky, gloomier vibes of the darker maps. I can still bring reagent offerings for the extra spooky but it's just not the same effect.
And I think I would have enjoyed hilariously broken things like old Self-Care stacking with We'll Make It for a speedy self heal right in the Killer's face. That must have been real suffering to face.

Nothing, i hope it all stays dead and buried, never to return, ever.
That goes especially to old freddy, old spirit, old hillbilly, hawkins map, old versions of certain perks, old character & map graphics, old survivor animations, old map tint, old ranking system, lightburn mechanic and old hud.

Old map versions, more killer variety i feel like way back in year 1 or 2, sure there was only a handful but you seen them all, now you just see like 4-5 with the rare outlier.

I think we all have a type of collective trauma with old DH lol. I can remember how crazy it was to be locked into missing a hit.

Bad and ugly? When talking about Old DBD?
Oh no, my friend. There are no such things. Not to me.
All I see is a game that I loved.

Its kinda strange but we miss the stupidity of the instant-up syringe medkits. Slug to healthy in the blink of an eye infront of the killer, door, hook, etc. We pulled so many stupid stunts with that broken add on...it deserved the nerf but we miss it all the same.
The darkness offering as well. Made most the maps spookier especially if survivors threw all thick fog. We love most the new visuals but they look to...clean? to give that same feeling. Some maps can still do it but nothing like old coldwind where the sky the color of tar and mud and fog and corn where no one can see a thing and anything can come and merc you. Maybe its missing some old visual tastes.
This last one maybe whining so apologies but we also miss the lack of perks, specifically regression. Currently 4/5 killers will run 3+ regression or slowdown. When we came to the fog the only major regression was ruin, and while everyone ran it, we atleast had more players who didn't heavily rely on it to win.
