Something I don't get

So match is almost over hatch is shut and survivors have to use the exit gates same ol' story right they power the exit gate because the maps exit gates are far apart. Why don't they just leave? I would get it if let's say the survivor never got hooked or hit but I mean if you were hooked twice and found while using plot twist it isn't really much of anything to show for so why not just leave if anything I think most killers just find down pallets and/or use their power to gain extra BP. To me I just see it as they barely ever get to escape but why not just leave there are countless videos of survivors teabagging and ending up getting screwed over at the exit gate. I was able to get rid of a Jane because she decided to teabag instead of leave and I was a Deathslinger with NOED(before the updates). So I just want to know why. Why not just take the W you have at the moment and leave.

    IDK either...

But there's a lot of back and forth when it comes to this

A win is not a win unless you assert your dominance. The other side must know, that you bested them and they need to feel terrible, so you can feast on their misery and grow your strength. Each and every one one of them shall suffer for all eternity!

Jokes aside: I don't know either.

Besides the people tbagging who are just bragging, here's a few reasons why survivors don't immediately leave:.

    - Someone is on hook or downed so the game isn't over

    - A survivor is injured and they don't know if they're safe (they're waiting for them to join them at the gates, get healed or exit through the other gates)

    - Killer has NOED and not all survivors are here (same reasons as before, they're waiting to make sure everyone is safe)

    - They're gaining time because a survivor is opening the other gate or healing or whatever

    - A survivor is in chase so you wait to make sure they get out safely, or so you can take hits and bodyblock if needed

Whenever this happens I use it as an opportunity to look around and explore all the map details in peace.

Speaking from my own experiences (this might be a minority take) I typically only engage in such behavior if it feels like the killer has been giving it themselves (obvious tunneling, camping, nodding in the way we all know is tryna be toxic and of course face slugging) other than that I will gladly take the escape since there is no reason to stick around since the possibility of death remains there as long as you are in the trial.

Lore-wise it’s kind of like the Survivors’ way of feeding the Entity. It even feeds on us real world players 😂

Force them to wait. 1 of you 4 of them , so they lose 4 times more time than you. It's a win in the end. Farm stuff on the map or go into the basement and see if one of them is crazy enough to get to you.

they are just doing some squats because obviously the survivor you never even saw the whole match earned that hatch/door escape.

but if we are talking about hanging around gates after gens are done and multiple people are alive there are valid reasons to not just leave. even if the killer is right there and i can't leave to be useful i'll force the killer to hit me out so everyone else sees where the killer is. if multiple people hang at the gate all together they might be snagging some heal points.

You see that part I get last minute healing or quick reinsurance that everyone is safe but it's more those who just stand there.

If they're the last survivor idk they just want you to watch them leave I guess, but if there's others survivors who aren't at the gates they're just wasting your time while the others reset or make their way to the gates

I don't mind it that much anymore to be honest, it's not like I'm the one wasting my time sitting at the gate waiting to t-bag someone in a game.

Personally I don't tend to linger at gates other than to heal and get extra points... cause yknow... its rude.

That said, I do sometimes like to wait at gate to put my item down to... I dunno say good bye and gg I guess? I am console so can't type it so it's the closest I have...

However if I have a valuable item and I wanna keep it... is it rude to pick it back up? I'm not sure... 🤔

They teabag to increase the toxicity of the game so that more killers tunnel.

That is, if they're not healing, waiting to try for a save, or something like that.
