The Dredge is overrated

He isn't that good honestly. His anti-loop is easily avoided by just running away or you can try to 50/50 mind game it. His teleport is good but also map dependant and rarely can be used in chase and it's risky since if it's locked or the Survivor pays attention to locker placements and the Killer, the teleport is just waste of time.

Nightfall is only good againts noob players and it is countered by aura reading perks (WoO being the most popular and also the most important).

So you end up with Killer that has anti-loop that only rly works if you are cornered, teleport that can be usualy used just to move to some sections of the map and Nightfall that is more like uncomfortable annoyance.

He is low B tier at best. He needs some buffs.

Dredge is not bad by any means but not great either. He is just very slow outside of Nightfall and maps don't help him either. Sometimes there are no lockers for miles and other times you have so many interconnected loops that your power has no chance to work.

His lore, cosmetics and overall gameplay concept are all interesting but it is difficult to win against a fairly decent team.

Autohaven is just awful when it comes to lockers.

Also, what's with people only locking one locker if there are 2 next to one another?

Isn't his teleport coded to prioritize the locked locker and therefore locking only one is used to conserve counterplay?

That's at least what I remember when he was released.

I don't recall anyone saying Dredge was really good, he's usually considered mid-tier at best.

Also this. If you lock both, the Dredge can break out of one and then hit the other, wheras if you lock only one, then after the Dredge breaks out of it you can still lock the other and get use out of it next time.

For some reason the forums made me post an empty message after my last one so... hi :)

Dredge cannot choose which locker to teleport to, by default it goes to the locked one. So locking only one is the correct play, because once it leaves the locker, if the other is locked dredge can immediately break it with m1. If it's unlocked, survivors can lock the second one later and further slow dredge down

I considered myself a Dredge main for a while until pretty recently. After a few too many dreadful games, I've reluctantly set aside the silly little fella in favour of Singularity and have been having alot more fun since then.

    Thanks for clarifying.

In some instances I cannot teleport to lockers, at all.

They appear different... as if spikes were coming out of them?

Does this mean they are too close?

Dredge's power is disabled in the vicinity of a hooked survivor, I think, in order to dissuade from camping/tunnelling.

For Dredge to be overrated, that would require a lot of people to rate him highly, which they don't. I think Dredge is a fantastically designed killer from an aesthetic view, he's probably my favorite in the game, but he's just not that fun to play because he has so many weaknesses. if he received some decent buffs, I'd love to play him a lot more often.

I consider Dredge the most balanced killer ever.

Great map mobility, a fun but not very oppressive anti-loop, a global debuff power with some stealth, and yet he isn't super strong. He is among my favorite killers because his powers help me, but not winning chases or the match instead of me.

My only complain about him is the mechanic of locked lockers. He should have all lockers unlocked after nightfall, a gen or something else.

Also it‘s stupid, that you tp always in the only locked locker in an area. You should be able to decide, because this takes away to distroy the locks.

i do not remember anyone saying dredge is good. I think he is always been considered very bad because he relies on cornering survivor as anti-loop which takes too long, has trash stealth in nightfall, situational teleporting that relies on map RNG with lockers and locker locking drawback that does not need to be there.

His only real positives is that he has access to 16 meter killer instinct during nightfall so he has some of the best detection tools in the game but that is not enough to be relevant when rest of the kit is underwhelming.

Dredge is my killer main since he came out, and i love him. However, he depends so much on locker placement, and you often got large deathzone where you just turn into a m1 killer. if i get the skullmerchant-map, i usually just hide in a locker and forfeit the match, because it has the worst locker placement of all maps. No need to play that.

I would love them to fix locker placement, and maybe a small buff to teleporterspeed/or recharge outside of nightfall.

  • Today, I just played him, but since there were hardly any lockers near the gens, the teleportation didn't work🤪
