How do you progress killer/survivor grades?

I really want the 2mill bp at the end of the month. What is your personal guide in to getting pips?

I just play and dont look at it. Grade is more of a how many hours you played in a season than it is how well you did.

For killer: Play Blight and use whatever perks and addons you're comfortable with. Try to avoid proxy camping and slugging, though.

For survivor: Play in a SWF. It's a bit inconsistent pipping as a survivor. Especially when you reach higher grades. Doing side objectives should help you get the objective category closer to max as it otherwise takes quite a bit of gen progress. You'll also need to go for some unhooks and heals to get the altruism points. When the killer is near but chasing after someone else, it can work to stay at a distance, run into their FOV, start a chase and run off again. That helps with the chase category.

Have honestly given up even trying for Iri. I'd need to play too sweaty for Killer and Solo Q is gonna be Solo Q. Guaranteed to de-pip a lot once you reach the gold grades.

Forget it my friend. That way lies madness.

But if you must, when I still gave a damn I felt like DeJa Vu, Second Wind, We'll Make It/Botany and Sprint Burst might be a pretty decent build for it. Or Deja Vu, Self-Care, Botany and Sprint Burst (my current Survivor build). Basically, a balanced build with perk choices that should help pipping in each category.

I've never reached Iri 1 Survivor though, so take my advice with a pinch of salt.

Killers Like Legion that can farm BP and prolong games are a fairly good choice for hitting Iri on the other side.

Playing normally, I can get to iri 4 no probs. Iri 4 to 1 though I have to really try. I refer to the wiki (scroll down to the points section) and it outlines how you earn and lose points. Makes it easier.

    Killer:

We're rather aggressive normally so we just play alot until iri. At iri we play more aggressive and ruthlessly. You don't need to tunnel or camp, but if a survivor makes a mistake, punish it. Ideally you'll find either the weakest link or the gen jockey first to start pressuring the team. Bring map offerings or sacrificial wards (we have had alot of people bringing map offerings lately) and all the fun add ons (by this we mean ones you know how to use well and possibly enjoy using). Depending on killer and map you may need to use your power more than usual or less. You have to play with the prey after all and not stomp them (stomping them usually gets a safety or a pip at best), but don't lose control of the situation.

    Survivor:

You kinda have to get lucky, in solo or swfs. You can get to iri by playing normal (normal is assuming you "play" the game and not hide in a corner or similar), but if a killer catches you first and wants to camp or tunnel, your more than likely s.o.l. Once at iri rank you need to do abit of everything and escape so be active. That said, keep yourself priority number 1 and don't take stupid risks unless forced. (ex: Your on death hook and the doors open, out you go. You don't care that your teammate is on hook at the other end of the map.) Basically play good, but smart and slightly selfish. Rule of thumb, a totem or 2, a decent chase, at least 1 safe rescue and heal, and completing the equivalent of 2 gens and escaping will probably get you a pip. The wiki could probably give better details than us.

If you want pips you need to optimize your gameplay toward emblem-progress. Someone already has linked the wiki page for them, so I'd start learning what best contributes to gold and iridescent emblems.

    For Killer:

Be aware of roughly where your MMR is with each killer. For example, if you 4k-ed four or five times in a row with Wraith, it might not be a good idea to play him whenever you are one or two pips away from the next grade. But if you lost five or six games with Doctor, he might be your guy! Mostly important in Iridescent ranks, you can play normally until you hit the brick wall after Gold.

    Survivor:

Run Distortion, Calm Spirit, Kindred and We'll Make It. Prioritize avoiding the killer at the beginning of the match and get 2 unhooks and heals if possibly. Do gens and if someone is on death hook, take agro off them. You need two good chases. I usually don't bother once I reach Iri rank 4, SoloQ is very hard to pip up.
