Personally love playing for a 3 gen wanted to know who is the best Killer for holding a 3 gen? Lots of talk about 3 gen singularity being a thing and ik knight and skull merchant are ok at doing this aswell. Also any good build for holding a 3 gen haven't played since skull merchant rework and COB and overcharge nerf wanted to know what the best 3 gen strats are now. Thanks

    Well...

I don't encourage you to do it, because it's pretty boring, but....

You can still play chess merchant. You can still put on old reliable Gen kick and play at least half an hour with her. Maybe even the whole hour if the survivors are not ready for it.

Singularity isn't good at holding anything I find. Hux is good at aggressive chase, not at defending. Emps destroy that.

    Knight is ok I guess...

    Other killers...

Demo with the purple addons that shows killer instinct near portals is great for Gen observation.

Do what you can't keep yourself from doing.

I mean, why you want to play like that? It can be really boring if you do on purpose with intended builds for both sides.

Maybe killers like the Knight not bad on doing that, but I really don't recommend to do that play style.

I don't want to get my favourite boys and girls nerfed, but The Legion can hold a pretty good 3 gen. Especially with the Filthy Blade and Fuming / Frank's Mixtape add-ons. But you didn't hear that from me...

Side note: Please, please, please only force a 3 gen as a last resort, or because the Survivors are gen rushing and not paying close enough attention to the gens they're completing. Don't be the kind of Killer that glues themselves to a 3 gen and refuses to chase from the very start of the game.

Not gonna lie, I probably get most of my wins from taking advantage of a 3 gen and I'm already apprehensive about BHVR's solution to them. Don't be the reason why they get removed from the game entirely.

People keep saying Singularity is good for 3-genning but I don't see it. I've even tried it myself before but EMPs can just break it too easily. I guess he's slightly better than most killers at it but he's not particularly great.

Skull Merchant is still pretty good. If survivors don't play against her in a particular way she can still be REALLY good at it, but good survivors can shut it down more easily than before.

Doctor is solid since in a 3-gen situation his AoE is gonna be hitting everyone and madness will be building pretty quickly that Snapping Out Of It becomes good slowdown.

Hag is good, even if they're wiping her traps away that's good slowdown, and if they aren't you'll be actually getting hits every now and then so the game shouldn't drag on for as long.

As always you'll want to try and get survivors to use up all the pallets around the 3-gen as early as you can, so that when they actually try and break it, they'll have far fewer resources to help them.

As far as I know the standard gen-kick build is still the best 3-gen build out there even with the nerfs.

Doctor and Hag are the new 3-genners. Skull Merchant is easily countered by not moving at all which you won't do anyway when you repair a generator.

You hit Singularity with EMP and he cries in his sleep.

I want to recommend you an excellent 3 gen build for knight. You need the Surge, Coulrophobia, Hex:Ruin and Hex:Undying perks. Surge causes all genes within 32 meters to explode when you drop one. And since all 3 genes are close to each other, all genes will probably explode. Coulrophobia forces survivors who want to heal to heal away from you because it requires almost impossible skill checks and survivors who fail must move away to heal. Hex:Ruin also counters the new anti-3 gene mechanic. Hex: Undying, a possebility appears in a very distant place on the map, reducing the chance of breaking. In this build, you need to keep 3 gens very close to your totem and protect your totem because if it breaks, you cannot kick the gens more than 8 times. Or you can change your Hex totems and equip Nowhere to hide and Overcharge. This works well if you kick a gen back so quickly that the others don't have time to advance that gene by 5%. I tried this build and after a while they started making jen without caring about me. If you play for about 1 hour, the game automatically counts everyone as sacrificed and the game ends. As add-ons, install the add-on that brings 2 cellarers in a row and the add-on that increases the patrol time by 8 seconds.

You'd want your totems to be within your 3 gen, not far away.

Hot take. Trapper. Perks: Hex: Face the Darkness + Sloppy Butcher + Coulrophobia + Pop Goes the Weasel.

Addons: Bear Oil + Trapper Gloves or Setting Tools

    How to play:

Quickly identify a 3-gen you can easily defend, head over there. If you see a survivor on the way and can force either a quick hit or a quick pallet drop, take it, break the pallet, and keep heading to your 3-gen. Place your traps at any nearby loopable tiles and scare off or hit any survivor on your 3-gen.

Next, find the aura of a nearby trap and beeline towards it, grab it, and bring it back to your 3-gen. Survivors back on 3-gen? Quick hit and repeat, until you have 7 or so traps set up in the area. Make sure if they keep snapping the same traps, to pick them up and reset them somewhere else in the tile, somewhere they have to run, but may not expect.

You should expect to lose every other gen while doing this. Once you're set up, hit a survivor and chase them until they drop a nearby pallet, break pallet, then return to 3-gen. Once all nearby pallets are gone, you can commit to chases. The anti-heal perks will force survivors to leave your minefield once injured to avoid Coulrophobia. They will also waste time tracking down your Hex. Don't bother defending the hex unless its in your 3-gen.
