There have been increased reports of survivors rescuing each other right after you hook them
If they attempt to do that please use your weapon to show them who is the boss around here.

    Not great advice, IMO.
    It's best to wait for the rescue animation so you can grab them from the rescue, and drop them, effectively slugging them.
    You probably could hang on to them and hit with your weapon so they can't help them up, but that is a gamble.
