Yes, Im a Demo Main... How could you tell?

I see a lot of people who play Killers who have an M2 power and only use that power to avoid losing stacks but never actually take the time to learn the power they are using, which eventually results in that player being stomped heavily once their MMR gets high enough since they just cannot keep up with the Survivors they are facing.

Ive always been an advocate for making the game better for new/learning players and I really felt as if STBFL's existence and prominence in the game was really awful for new/learning players since it fundamentally hinders learning and growth.

"You gotta work for stacks."

I think this is entirely problematic and should have 100% been changed sooner to include Special Attacks/Health States in the proc condition for losing stacks. I always see people say "but the stacks are earned" but complain about this nerf despite the fact that it only makes managing stacks an actual challenge. Hitting the Obsession with an M2 was never that hard, and by proxy, managing STBFL wasnt difficult either.

Now if you want STBFL stacks, you ACTUALLY have to manage who you hit and when you hit them. Perks like PWYF or Exposed perks/Killers might have a bit more relevancy with this perk as well. It ACTUALLY requires effort and I personally like that more and feel as if the perk is in the better spot.

Oh, and of course, the "tunneling will increase with this perk."

People already camped and tunneled with this perk a lot.

STBFL is a meta perk, and most people brought it because it would help them win, so most people who used this perk would tunnel and camp since it's the most efficient way to win in DBD. I mean look on the Forums, Reddit, and/or Twitter and see how many people complain about tunneling in their matches anyways, this perk change fundamentally changes nothing in that regard, people have and always will tunnel and camp.

"People will just use 4 regression/slowdown/blocking perks."

And they will. Because 95% of perks are like a fart in the wind, theyll be gone and youll never notice them ever. With DBD, people will always just move onto the next big and/or easy thing. MFT was meta, it got nerfed, people moved on, same with STBFL, and the many, many former meta perks.

YOU cannot prevent that since it fundamentally is out of your hands, and ACCEPTING that is difficult for a lot of people.

"It helps low-tier characters."

In a comp setting, yes.

But speaking as someone who plays both sides and a lot of Killer, youll rarely even actually need it in most of your pub matches. Those 4000K HOUR COMP TEAM SWF you see in YouTube thumbnails a lot are far rarer than you think.

And if you accept that you are playing a "weak" or "low-tier" character, you should expect that you are not running the most efficient things possible, you should accept that you are probably going to lose, and I think that is difficult for a lot of people honestly.

Sometimes you lose a match. This applies to Killer and Survivor. It just happens.
