Can we have old Spine Chill back?
My former favourite perk. I think they gutted Spine Chill way out of proportion and the only thing it really needed was that it would not function against stealth killers / stealth perks/addons.
Any objection?

Only if it doesn't work on stealth killers/killers effected by undetectable/if the survivor is suffering from oblivious.

It shouldn't have been changed, tbh.

I think Spine Chill can be brought back as a utility perk like Resilience is.
Remove it's effect applying on Killers that are undetectable (or if you are oblivious) and reduce the effective range. Action Speeds can be increased and Vault Speed can return but with a diminished effect.
Premonition can be reworked to be a better anti-stealth perk, it's always been a bad perk, I think it needs some time in the spotlight.

Old Spine Chill is not needed- Even if you removed the part of the perk working against stealth killers it wouldn't matter because of the accessibility setting they added in with the visual terror radius. It's not needed for modern DBD so just give it up for old Spine Chill.

Spine chill should be buffed atleast it’s trash now

A lot of perks go through that stuff- The higher FoV of Shadowborn was a part of the OG perk before it was gutted to ONLY that and people still ran it.

When the DBD forum community has no objection to a survivor perk buff, it is apparent that this perk should get its revert.
BHVR please make us happy again :)

The fact it hard countered stealth killers was so ridiculous. I'd be fine it returning if it didn't work vs undetectable.

Don't bring back old spine chill, but definitely buff it. Give it a side buff

No, it needs the old effect. What kind of BS is the current spine chill effect? It activates when the killer is looking into your direction without LoS blocking. Thank you BHVR, we have eyes.

Exactly this. Or oblivous status.

I want it back because I’m bad and always walk into Mikey’s arms when I’m trying to avoid him. I understand that it’s not fair for stealth killers though.
It really did help against Nurse and Spirits though. If you’re a bad looper, it gave you an edge with stealth against them.
1 -
It was nerfed because it made stealth play impossible for killers. Ghost face and Myers could not build their powers
If you want a better version, just throw on stakeout

I am totally down for that. Old Spine Chill, but not working against undectable killers / effects. This would make the perk good egain, but not op.
1 -
Nah I think spine chill should be left alone, and thats what’s cool about playing against stealth killers is that you have to watch your surroundings.

The original post was 2 sentences long. In one of those i actually said it should not work against stealth killers.

Oh I know but I still felt like I needed to put that out there

spine chill needs a buff for sure, i havent seen someone use spine chill since like a few days after it got the shaft.
1 -
It could be buffed but it shouldn’t just be bringing back the old Spine Chill. I’d like if the action speed was a bit better personally.

Most killer mains also agree that DS 3s is utter garbage and should be revoked to its 5s original state, to maintain some impact on the game. The only nerf it needed was that it didn't work in the endgame. And I am as killer biased as they come.

Hell no.

The old effect is already trumped by the visual heartbeat.
2 -
I'd even go so far as to say it should get a charge for each unhook so it can be used twice per game.

I actually forgot that this wasn't the case, but that it was just one use only.

It's not a hard counter since it was based off where the killer was looking when within range. Good players would recognize a player had spinechill and would approach their location while looking away a little. Instead of facing 12 o'clock while approaching a gen, just look 2 o'clock instead.

I think they meant the old one before the nerf, not the original. The original just sucked because it forced you to crabwalk sideways everywhere. Was a pretty dumb situation. The old one pre-nerf, line of sight has 0% to do with the survivor being notified. You could walk backwards and the survivor still would be notified. If you were within 36 meters, you simply put had guaranteed info the killer was near. It completely eliminated most of the stealth killers as being threats, as by the time they'd sneak up to you, you'd be long gone.

That actually makes it worse. Knowing a killer is near is neat, but knowing the killer is near AND they intend on coming to my location is better. Otherwise, you end up wasting time hiding anytime the killer is in the general area. The best version of this perk is before the 6.1.0 change.

With the exception of it not having the vault speed anymore, the 6.1.0 version was stronger than the pre-6.1.0 version. The pre-6.1.0 version could be countered by looking away/moonwalking to the survivor's location, even if this was very awkward counterplay (and not really reasonable to expect killers to do every time). The 6.1.0 version lit up within 36 meters no matter what; LOS and which direction the killer was facing were not factors at all. So there was no way for the killer to avoid the warning, which is what made it better. If the perk icon wasn't lit up, you knew 100% that the killer wasn't nearby and you were in no danger of being snuck up on. The pre-6.1.0 version didn't give you that sense of security.

I fully understand what your saying, I'm disagreeing that THAT makes it better. False alarms are time wasters. Knowing the killer is within 32 meters of me is pretty useless information and just promotes hiding for no reason. Often times the killer is busy doing other stuff. If the light only pops on when the killer is looking at me, I know I have his attention if that light stays on for a second or 2.

Not all of us. It was abused by survivors for free escapes. I'm glad it got gutted

I think spine chill should get
36m if the killer is looking at you while you are in their terror radius, / if the killer is looking at you while you are injured
It doesn't work if you are oblivious or they are undetectable
and 6% vault speed back but it doesn't stack
give it a bit of nuance doesn't work against stealth killers, gives it vault speed back but not 15% with resilience because that was always silly, and makes it a bit weaker while healthy most of the time
id use it again but wouldn't really hate on it if I saw it

Personally I think Resilience should lose its vault speed bonus and Spine Chill should get its bonus back. Resilience does too much while Spine Chill does too little, split the difference.

How i understand it is that the visual Terror Radius is just the terror radius, no more no less. Old Spine Chill activated when the killer was looking at you. Just because a survivor is in the killers terror radius does not mean the killer is looking at you.
I like this idea quite a bit.
