Had a match were 4 gens were done in less than 5 minutes, but still match ended up lasting over 30 minutes just because how disgusting this killer is and how easy she can hold the last three gens, and of course she got all 4 kills at the end, no swaet, no real skills needed. Why does this killer even exists? Her design is just sooooo bad is mind blowing

Overcharge, harder skill check drones and Oppression?

    Could be Ruin as well.

30 mins? With the new update that’s not possible anymore. It sounds like the survivors and possibly yourself made critical mistakes, which isn’t the killers fault.

    Wait, how did that happen?

With the anti 3 gen mechanic in the game this shouldn't even be possible.

I had a bad 3-gen match against a Skull Merchant the other day, but it was a 3-gen we as a survivor team did to ourselves, and we did manage to break it eventually, though the Skull Merchant still got a 2K.

It was pretty bad and unenjoyable but at least it ended eventually.

    Survivors - also insuffable.

Predrop, predrop, predrop. Hump main building. Second chance, second chance, second chance. FTP/BU. Exhaustion etc etc.

Now you know how killers feel. Literally the entire survivor meta and playstyle has been this way for killers for years.

Unfortunately, I think this dislike towards Skull Merchant will be around for a long time.

For some players Skull Merchant is the same as Legion is for others: a character whose problematic release taints them forever. Even if they are changed, and they both were, they are still associated with their original iterations and the problems they've caused.

It is different from, let's say, Myers and Freddy. They were both unnecessarily nerfed after their releases and called "overpowered", even though they weren't. But they didn't cause problems in the same way SM and Legion did.

I wasn't around for the original Skull Merchant, but I was around for Old Legion. I can understand why some people will never like the character. What I think has gone too far are the continuous requests for her to be removed from the game. That is never the solution.

Oppression only counts for the gen you kick, so theoretically in a 3 gen you could get 24 procs which is damaging gens 72 times.

    Realistically though, that's unlikely.

It also has a cooldown. You'd need some serious time to kick 3 gens 8 times each proccing oppression.

I know but because she would walk around and kick gens about every 10 seconds, she would burn through them so quick it doesn't matter. That takes maybe 10 minutes, if she really uses all 24 kicks. Oppression also has pretty long cooldown. It does not work out. Something doesn't add up.

    The math ain't mathing.

Even if you failed every skill check you'd still be under having a 30 min or longer game. Also considering that if what you said about doing 4 gens super fast is true then how in the world did you completely collapse in the 3 gen scenario. That's a complete regression of player ability against a killer who functionally shouldn't have enough tools to pressure a full set of survivors. Merchant's drones don't even activate on folks crouching or working on gens and with 4 people you've got enough coverage to have two to three people spreading on the gens with at least one person able to just hack drones.

Regression event cap means at even the worst case scenario you should have all been able to finish the last gen and get at least one to two people out unless they had endgame perks.

For anyone who doesn't know already, Overcharge is currently a permanent effect even after the initial skillcheck because it only goes away after the gen stops regressing fully and to stop a gen from regressing fully as a survivor you have to work on the gen for 5 uninterrupted seconds. This initially doesn't seem like much until you realize how easy it is for Skull Merchant to chase survivors away from a gen in a 3-gen as long as the gens are close enough together. So as long as she can keep chasing survivors away before they can stop the regression the gens will always be regressing by 130%.

Yes, this isn't NEARLY as powerful as pre-update gens, but it is still powerful none the less.

That makes some sense, but I'm confused on why Skull Merchant would be highlighted here. Any killer that moves at 115% or above would be able to do this, surely?

It's due to her drones, claw traps, and haste/hindered that make her stronger with this-
