How about a chapter based on John Carpenter film 'The Fog'?

Has this been suggested before? I don’t remember seeing anything.

It just seems to tick so many boxes. The Fog. FOG. Its part of the game already – they must be able to do something exciting with that?

Also the apparitions are ‘ancient mariners’ seeking vengeance which is only one short step away from being pirates thus satisfying the small but vocal pirate advocates on here but in a non-cheesy way.

The coastal town would also make a great location with the church, lighthouse etc..

You could also have a few different salty seaman for the different DLC costumes etc..

What do you think?

Licensing might be a tad expensive- but it sounds super cool.

Considering the pirates only came out during the fog, I think that would be a big indicator to survivors of where not to be.

Altho they did have an uncanny way of knowing where someone was, so maybe.

The main problem I see is that in the game thick fog is beneficial to the survivors. I'm not sure how they would switch that in favour of the killer!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, but I was also insinuating that they can, somehow, find the survivors easier, like maybe they will show an aura as they enter the fog.

But you'd also have to figure out how to incorporate the lore of the movie into the game because the whole reason why they were pissed off and jacking people in the first place was because their loot was stolen and they were getting revenge... and weren't the victims ancestors of the original thieves? I can't remember. Makes me want to watch it again.

Its been a while for me too but I think they were just normal guys who were sent to their deaths. They came back to take revenge on the ancestors of the guy who had let them die so he could get the treasure.
    Or something...

It would be a good one for sure, I'd say The Thing could also work as an interesting killer/setting.

I watched this on Xmas eve with the Kids.
    Here be Spoilers
100 years ago, the Wealthy leader of a Leper colony approached the leader of a small coastal community, to get themselves relocated within their boundaries; they would give them a whole heap of gold if they would. However, as the ship rolled in, they were swathed in a thick fog bank. The townspeople had set up fires, to mislead them, and the ship gets wrecked on the rocks. No survivors... townspeople take the gold and build a nice new town, thank you very much.
100 years later the Ghost Leper Pirates (ok, they're just ghost lepers, but they're on boats, and they look piratey) come back to claim 6 lives, one for each of their fallen comrades...
    Movie rules.

I reckon create a massive Terror Zone sized WALL of Fog, in which visibility is reduced to a couple of metres, in which Blake can roam... would probably suck and get looped to hell, but he would be badass! Oh and Adrienne Barbeau! :)
