My guess is the dream world caused the fog to disappear and instead of trying to fix it they just killswitched him for the modifier.

I expect the modifier to work with every killer, it is the bare minimum.
This is unacceptable.

This was done because Freddy's Dream World effects (when a Survivor is asleep, or all the time as the Killer) conflict with the darkness effect used in this modifier. We tried to keep as many Killers available as possible, but he is sadly not compatible with Lights Out.

Wow this is a massive let down. I don’t understand why they keep doing stuff like this.
Why not spend time making Freddy compatible and release it then?
I’ve said it so many times by now. I’d rather wait for content that is well fleshed-out rather than stuff that feels hastily done and unfinished. It reminds me of when they pushed out the Player Cards feature with no Player Cards available. Weird.

def a fair expectation to think your game mode would be compatible with all available killers within said game. as usual seems like half effort on their part and just wanting to push something out just like the player cards
it being a limited event and serving as a test is prob the only reason I could see them not fully fleshing it out before release but still, it's disappointing cause it follows a clear pattern at this point that's hard to ignore

I would be laughing. If it wasn't so damn sad. Why did it have to hit Freddy of all killers? He already suffers enough.
I mean, I had a feeling this would happen because his Dreamworld kind of has a habit of malfunctioning whenever something is dark. But how could they not fix this beforehand? They knew this was an issue.

Maybe make him pallet Freddy only and make his power work while everyone is awake? Simple fix.

Unfortunately it would be out of the scope for a modifier. I think we'd all love to have him be playable in Lights Out, but with modifiers only being available for a limited time, we need to be mindful of the time we spend on them since those resources could be put into updates elsewhere in the game which would be available year-round.

Freddy makes sense being disabled having the dream world affect, but I'm seeing Wesker and Pinhead are also kill switched? What's wrong with those 2?

if you are refering to the screenshot in this post the hue of the character portraits may be because that person does not have those characters unlocked, however I have no idea.

Okay this is hilarious because it's another middle finger to Freddy (I lost count to the amount of times BHVR has bullied poor Freddy) but also really unfortunate. If Lights Out becomes a staple modifier eventually rather than a prototype, then they need to adjust the dream world for the gamemode, no excuses.

There are 30+ killers in the game, and only 1 of them doesn't work. If anything its actually part of the test itself, to make sure that if there are new game modes in the future that are broken by specific killers, they can killswitch those specific killers in those matches.

What makes it worse is that I liked this modifier, it is pretty fun. Not having my main available feels like I'm missing out on the best possible experience.
