New Licensed Killer Idea - Danganronpa: The Despair

Probably not happening but Danganronpa is all about hope & despair, so it would really fit DBD's theme.

The Despair (Junko Enoshima)
danganronpa.wikia.com/wiki/Junko_Enoshima

Weapon: Monokuma

Power: Despair Broadcast
Essentially Doctor's power, but with different effects & way of recovery. I don't put any actual number, just the general idea.
"You're equipped with a gadget with which to spread despair. Affected survivors will start to feel hopelessness in everything that they do."
Tier 1 - Slightly increase survivor's chance at triggering skill check. Remove great skill check zone, slightly reduce good skill check zone.
Tier 2 - Increase survivor's chance at triggering skill check even more. Reduce good skill check zone even more (about the size of great skill check zone).
Tier 3 - Increase survivor's chance at triggering skill check even more. Add skill check to activities that normally wouldn't have skill check (cleansing, searching chest, and watching hope broadcast - the way to recover from despair, more later). Add a time limit (like Reverse Bear Trap) in which the survivor will die after a certain amount of time unless they recover from the despair.
Note: if she or the survivors use perks with a defined skill check zone (like Overcharge or DS), those perks' skill check zone will be prioritized.

Recovery way - Hope broadcast
There will be boxes (radio? TV?) around the map (like Jigsaw's box), and the survivors can watch this broadcast for a fixed duration to reduce the despair level by 1 (tier 3 to tier 2, tier 2 to tier 1, tier 1 to completely cured). Watching the hope broadcast doesn't trigger skill check unless the survivor is at Despair tier 3 (although the skill check will be normal sized - not the extra difficult one that the Despair effect gives to other activity). After successfully watching a hope broadcast, the broadcast will be temporarily turned off for a fixed period (so you can't just watch the same broadcast again and again).

Comments: So yeah, her power is not lethal. Personally, I would HATE to fight against her, but that's kind of the point: to fill the survivors with despair. Also, while annoying, her power can be countered easily by learning to consistently hit great skill check (which isn't exactly hard although not exactly easy either).

Perks (numbers are placeholders, idk how strong the numbers actually are...):
Evidence of a Mistake
In this trial, a small mistake will cost you dearly. If a survivor failed a skill check, reveal the survivor's aura for 3/4/5 seconds. This perk has a cooldown of 10/8/6 seconds.

Body Discovery Announcement (I have 2 versions of this perk, and I can't decide which one is better, so I'll just give both)
Victims are announced to the rest of the crew, announcing the presence of a killer. But where is the killer? Now, that's the question.
Version 1: After you hooked a survivor, your terror radius will become map-wide for 4/6/8 seconds.
Version 2: After you hooked a survivor, increase your terror radius by 12 metres for 5 seconds, followed by 4/6/8 seconds in which you don't have a terror radius.

Execution
There's no escaping an execution. This perk starts with 0/0/1 token. If a survivor wiggled out of your grasp, consume one token and the survivor will remain in the Dying state. Gain one token for every successful sacrifice (max 1/2/2 tokens).

So, what do you think? Please like, comment, and subscribe (just feel like saying that :P ).

Off topic but is this game good? I am not into anime games but it got so many good reviews I might need to try it out to see for myself.

If you're into detective games, yes. You can't really watch YouTube videos because of spoilers, but you can try a free demo of the 3rd game in Steam. The first 2 games are similar albeit less polished.

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/589120/Danganronpa_V3_Killing_Harmony_Demo_Ver/

Btw I highly recommend playing them one by one because the later games will reference the previous games.

While thematically being a perfect candidate for getting snatched by the entity, the despair might be a bit ..." too anime"  for dbd.
While being stabbed by teen angst edgelords seems to be slowly getting accepted by the community, god forbid adding  s real teen monster to the game *sigh*, just because "aneeemuuu".

I think her problem is simply her design which isnt easy to translate from 2d to 3d while keeping its charm. Remember its our devs we're talking about :)

btw nice you focused her on frustrating skillcheck which might cause despair *ba dum ts*

But, but... Her boobs are hopelessly huge. If that's not enough to lure people in, I don't know what will...

Well, they don't know what they are missing.

I feel like Legion fits well because it harkens back to that very brief media panic of teens and thrill-killing (I think it was a group of 4 suburbanite teens who killed a homeless man, and the media was having a field day for a month).

Anime is pretty divisive among gamers who aren't playing anime games, so I think there would be a whole lotta push back if they added in this chick. I haven't been into anime for like... probably 15 years at this point, and I try not to be a hater, but I would really not feel too enthusiastic if she was added.

To be honest Kamakura Izuru would be better than Junko Enoshima because he has long black hair and red glowing eyes , he would be like a spirit but with jigglebone hair instead of wavy flying hair

Visually perhaps, but he has no motivation to kill the survivors.
  • I don't care what anyone says, I'd love to see Monokuma as a killer in DBD.
