What are you supposed to do vs Knight on Hawkins?

Just had a game of no looping on hawkins. I just want to know what are you supposed to do when he just puts on guard on one side and him on the other? I tried leaving the loop when he was putting the guard down and it just resulted in me getting hit.

    majority of knight chases it becomes painfully clear the killer player has no idea how to perform in an actual chase; dodge their power a few times and force them to engage in chase mechanics and they are mostly terrible. Not surprising but it's something that I've noticed enough that it stands out
