Chapter Concept: Unreliable Urbex
So I've written a chapter, the first chapter I wrote still needs some details so this is my second chapter
I hope you enjoy it
An unfinished building with wires and insulation exposed, dimly lit and with construction equipment scattered around. Looking through windows one can see a glimpse of a rainy cityscape during a blackout.
Landmarks
- Construction Crane
A construction crane located in the center of the Unfinished Building. The arm of the crane can also be seen from a few skylights around the map.
- Elevator Room
The elevator cabins are missing and survivors can enter the shaft to cross the bottomless pit.
A mangle of tight interconnecting steam tunnels residing under a campus of abandoned and long forgotten buildings, the surface is as bad as its underground.
Landmarks
- Generator Room
A large room filled with a lot of machinery, presumably backup generators, many pieces are rotten and rusted, sets of faulty catwalks lie above the machines.
- Caved-in Room
A room with a caved in ceiling, the outside world can be seen with dead trees surrounding the hole.
Brutalist ruins that certainly don't belong anywhere in New York, but inexplicably they can be found here. It’s a haunting spectacle of architectural defiance. Forgotten by time.
Landmarks
- Bar
A spacious room with a bar, there was once a big glass window showing the outside of the place.
- Crash Site
A large commercial plane lies within the courtyard of the place, twisted by the forest of dead trees.
A fenced out community of abandoned houses and sheds with a red-ish hazy sky, there are multiple large cables and machinery amongst the dead forest, some machines can be deafening.
Landmarks
- Transmission Tower
In the center of the tiny village there is a plus shaped two-story dilapidated house with a massive radio tower that can be seen from every corner of the map.
A public library Caldwell used to work at, now as a warm welcome the fog reflects his beautiful workspace as a burnt pile of ashes. The couple of stairwells that still last are just drop-downs as most of the second floor doesn't exist anymore.
Landmarks
- Main Hall
The main hall that connects the front entrance to the reading tables, green carpets and dark grey columns used to be there. There are small windows at the bottom of the rounded ceilings and circular windows at each end of the hall, both places are divided by a bridge.
- Tidy Back Rooms

Mr. Doge - The Animation
Mr. Doge, once the beloved entertainment animatronic and the heart of a thriving amusement park, stood proudly as the main mascot that brought joy to the faces of countless children. However, the passage of time is unforgiving, and advancements in technology left Mr. Doge obsolete. As the park ushered in a new era with more modern and sophisticated robots, Mr. Doge found himself cast aside, relegated to a forgotten corner where he deteriorated, accumulating layers of dust and echoes of laughter long silenced.
Abandoned and left to rot, Mr. Doge's once vibrant exterior faded, mirroring the desolation within. The void left by the absence of the lively chatter of children and the warmth of their smiles gnawed at his artificial soul. It was a silent agony, an emptiness that echoed through the empty halls of the amusement park.
As the days turned into years, Mr. Doge's programming, once designed to spread happiness, twisted into something malevolent. The animatronic, once a beacon of joy, now harbored a sinister intent. The spark of life that once danced in his mechanical eyes had been replaced by a cold and calculating gleam. The very essence of his existence had transformed into a dark force seeking to reclaim what was lost.
Driven by an insatiable desire to fill the void within, Mr. Doge embarked on a killing spree. The once cheerful animatronic now moved with eerie precision, hunting down any who dared to trespass into the decaying amusement park. The flickering lights cast ominous shadows as Mr. Doge roamed the empty corridors, a haunting figure in a world that had long forgotten him.
One fateful night, as the moon cast an eerie glow over the dilapidated amusement park, something inexplicable occurred. A rift, a tear in the fabric of reality itself, opened within the heart of the forgotten attraction. The Entity, the ancient and insatiable force that fed on the trials and tribulations of the living, sensed the twisted agony emanating from Mr. Doge.
In a surreal convergence of worlds, Mr. Doge, driven by his own despair and malevolence, found himself ensnared by the Entity's tendrils. The amusement park, now a realm tainted by both the memories of joy and the lingering darkness of Mr. Doge's deeds, became a new hunting ground within the Entity's realm—a twisted reflection of the once vibrant and lively place.
Now trapped within the fog, Mr. Doge is a nightmarish amalgamation of the joyous past and the malevolent present. His rusted joints creak as he prowls the distorted landscape, a spectral guardian of the amusement park lost to time. The laughter that once echoed through the air has been replaced by the haunting melody of his own mechanical movements, signaling the arrival of an animatronic killer driven by an eternal quest to reclaim the happiness stolen from him.

Chris Caldwell, a mild-mannered librarian with a passion for urban exploration, spent his weekends and vacations photographing the haunting beauty of abandoned buildings. One fateful day, driven by the allure of mystery, he stood before the entrance to forgotten steam tunnels. The air whispered with tales of the unknown, yet curiosity triumphed over caution, compelling Chris to venture into the depths. As he meandered through the dimly lit passages, his fascination grew, each step fueling the thrill of discovery.
However, the further Chris ventured, the more the atmosphere thickened, making every breath a laborious task. Despite the ominous signs, he pressed on, enticed by the secrets that lay hidden in the labyrinthine tunnels. The oppressive air took its toll, and as he navigated the winding passages, the once enticing exploration transformed into a struggle for survival.
Inevitably, the tunnels led him to a dead end, far from the reassuring presence of his friends. Panic set in as he realized the gravity of his predicament. Alone and isolated, he succumbed to the oppressive atmosphere, collapsing under the weight of his misfortune.
When consciousness returned, it was not in the familiar surroundings of the steam tunnels but within an otherworldly fog. Confusion and disorientation enveloped him as he grappled with the surreal nature of his surroundings. Chris, now a survivor in the Entity's twisted realm, could only hope that the passage of time outside the fog had frozen, awaiting his return.
