Racoon City Police Station Third Floor
I liked the third floor and am curious if they have any plans to add a version of the map with it opened again.

Wth is this third floor you speak of? I swear everyday I come to the forums to learn an old but cool AF piece of the game was removed. Why did they remove it if you didn't mind me asking?

If you're referring to the area above the Library, it proved problematic, even after they split RPD in half.
Boil Over plays, killer able to bodyblock hooks there, killer able to bodyblock access to unhooking, or lack of any hook there with Sabo or Breakdown, etc. Issues of that nature made that area frustrating all around.

On the original RPD map, back when there was just one, you could go up here:
There was actually a vault there, iirc. As cool as it sounds, it was a horrible map to play.

Because back then Boil Over was pretty much broken. It was not a strong Perk by any means, but the library on RPD was open and some Survivors thought it was funny to run there with Boil Over. It was stronger back then (https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Boil_Over#5.5.0), filling your wiggle meter by 25% of overall progress. And since there was no Hook upstairs the Library, they could just run there and there was no possibility to hook them from there. Paired with Perks like Boon-Expontential it resulted in pretty annoying gameplay.
IMO they can open this part of the library again, but only if a Hook always spawns on the ground floor of the Library AND they remove any Totem Spot in the upper part.

I think this area could still be accessed after they split the map, but I am not sure. I took a hell of a long break from DBD around the time the first RE Chapter released because the game was no longer enjoyable.
When I came back, it was already gone. But I do remember the original RPD map. Vividly, in fact.

I don't know why they removed the third floor when they could have changed hook spawns and maybe totems. It would have been easier for BHVR to implement than making the changes they did to the map.

RPD is big enough that you could realistically make several new maps out of it. It'd be cool but I don't expect it to ever happen.

Yeah I liked it too. Why couldn't they just guarantee a hook at the bottom of the stairs? That would surely stop Boil Over plays and the killer wouldn't be able to body block

Yeah it’s so sad that I never got to experience the third floor and I don‘t think opening would hurt anyone.
