Why do Nurse, Hag and Huntress have such short and simple power descriptions...

Yet for some reason, an even simpler Killer to understand like Ghost Face has a paragraph worth of explaining.

The Huntress

  • Start with 7 Hatchets
  • Charge for max Hatchet speed
  • Refill at Lockers

How can we Huntressify the Ghost Face's power description?

I'll give it a try…

The Ghost Face

Night Shroud

  • Become Undetectable
  • Avoid being seen by Survivors
  • Allows Stalking

Special Ability: Stalk

  • Press and Hold the power button to stalk and mark Survivors
  • Marked Survivors are Exposed
  • Lean around objects for faster stalking

I think some power descriptions should get a small overview because reading something so long for such a simple power is a crime, especially when you have Killers like the Nurse or the Huntress where their power can be understood from their descriptions in like 10 seconds.

Because they have been released way earlier than Ghost Face (or similar Killers). You can see the same with Perks. Old Perks, especially those which never got their effect changed, have short texts while new Perks have long texts.

Simply because to create unique things with over 80 Characters and hundreds of Perks in the game, you have to add more things to make them unique.

    Sometimes simplicity is a blessing.

Many older killers have quite simply powers. It doesn't mean, they're easy to play but they are mostly self-explanatory. Compare that to Singularity, whose power is incredibly complex but not very mechanically demanding (still hard to use right, though).

As @Aven_Fallen correctly stated, pretty much everything has been done in one way or another already when it comes to killer powers. So to create unique killers now, they need to reuse existing concepts and combine and twist them into something new. That easily bloats that character's kit.

Sadako, Freddy and Dredge for example are all made of the same basic gameplay components. They are M1 killers with a stealth ability (demanifesting, dreamworld obliviousness, nightfall), anti loop (phasing, dream snares, remnant), mobility (TVs, gens, lockers) and a side power (condemned, dream world, nightfall). But when you look into how each of these components work, they are still very different from each other and all have their own strengths and weaknesses. Combining these naturally makes their powers rather complex even when they aren't that hard to play (Freddy).
