Dedicated servers not responding ending in time out
I was playing as the Hillbilly just now when my match started to lag out, the chainsaw was stuck charging and a survivor was crouching away from me in the same direction even though I was right on top of them. Then a few moments later I get disconected by the game and get told that "Dedicated servers are not responding". When I get back to the lobby, I get a matchmaking locked message as if I had disconnected on purpose. And then I got a network connection in the main menu.
I'm posting this so it is known I didn't DC on purpose, I know others have probably reported this issue too but I want to make sure I post it so I don't get a ban for it.

You don't need to worry about getting banned.
Disconnects are automatically tracked and penalised through a temporary matchmaking lock (seen in the first picture).
As for the issue you've encountered, this has been happening for months but is worse as of late. It's been reported many times on the forums, Reddit, Twitter, etc. so hopefully they're working on fixing it ASAP.

I hope so. I have matches as killer where I make a complete turn around and BAM! Disconnected….. lol

Oh I see, thank goodness they know about this. And I agree hopefully they manage to resolve it sooner than later.

It oddly always happens to me at that pivotal moment of guaranteed 4K. Either I am downing the last survivor or just slammed the hatch shut.
