PSA for solo queue survivors regarding Greenville Square...
This actually applies to many maps with maybe Mother's Dwelling being one of the few exceptions…
For the love of God please do NOT do the main building gen first but instead try to clear the mid gens ASAP.
I know it is very safe and easy to do but you more often than not screw your entire team in the long run. I can always tell when my team mates have a functional brain just by the gens they decide to do first. But 9/10 matches someone does main gen first, just the same as despite everyone knowing Suffo Pit and Azarov's are 3 gen maps, we still end up 3 genned.
Please spread the word - STOP DOING MAIN GEN FIRST, YOU ARE KILLING YOUR TEAM
Thank you, that is all.

Deja Vu is a staple on my solo Q build, letting me see the 3 gens closest and knowing which ones to focus.
That said, there is caution upon throwing the game by trying to complete those 3 gens only and basically treating it like there are only 3 gens. It doesn't matter if you have broken the 3 gen if you still have 4 gens left and the killer has already put people to death hook.0 -
I don't bother with Deja Vu as I feel that once you have played enough you know the gens to get rid of first such as mid gens, unsafe ones and NOT the edge map gens.
Some killers will try to force a 3 gen which is a very boring tactic of course but eventually they will have to take chase and they can only kick gens so much now thankfully. It can create a long and tedious match but still winnable

I hate the new map as survivor.

I don't mind it at all, I think the issues for survivor are that the middle may be full of pallets but they are either slightly unsafe to very unsafe fillers.
The issue I have is the premise of the thread - solo randoms pretty much always do the top gen or the far gen in the other corner creating an inevitable nightmare late game where you only have mid gens with nothing but unsafe pallets to play around.
If survivors played this map right for once the map would be rough for killers to pressure without resorting to only patrolling mid to force a 3 gen

I agree about the gen in main. I always try to do the ones near the unsafe pallets. But again the pallets are terrible on that map

They are essentially just fillers yeah…
While you may not be in my region, I thank you on behalf of solo queue warriors in your region as the vast majority of survivors do the safe top gen every time.
I wish I could communicate to them not to do this but it feels hopeless as every match is the same mistake.
*Sigh

Knowing where gens spawn is all well and good until you get other survivors actively working against your efforts to prevent a 3 gen. Then it really helps to have real time updates of the worst possible 3 gens so you can at least minimise the impact. That's why I run Deja Vu, and 6% doesn't hurt.

Yeah I do think the perk has its use but it just doesn't justify taking up a perk slot for me personally.
Just had another match on this map… exact same scenario played out where we versed a Myers and randoms did the far lone gen and top main gen first.
You would think survivors would learn but they just dont seem to as this happens pretty much every time on this map. It's one thing I hate about matchmaking being all over the place, as experienced survivors would know better

Yeah this is the actual main reason I take Deja Vu. Most people will just start working on the first gen they see. Which is good yes, because it pressures the killer to interrupt them. But at the same time it means people might ignore the smallest 3 gen.
I usually take note of what 3 gens are highlighted, and try and "draw a triangle in my head" with them. The goal is to complete and remove the gen that will leave the longest distance between the remaining 2. If I passed other generators, I will factor those in as well for drawing a line.
The perk is really good because it encourages better game sense other than simply "do middle gens first".1 -
Don't say that! I like not having to care about the main building when I play killer.

Lmao… exactly!
Doing this gen first removes any reason for the killer to bother with the strongest part of the map

There's an achievement tied to finishing this gen so some people are going to want to finish it for that.
2 -
Yeah I have considered this too, though I strongly suspect the real motivation for most is selfishness and ignorance

Meaning they have to skillfully get a stun on the killer instead of just predropping and getting a free +20 seconds added to a chase?
Generally people will chose the path of least resistance for sure. But i'd argue that every pallet should be mindgamable.

My pet peeve as well. They always go to the main building gen first and hurt us all.

I am not complaining about it, the map would be far too large to patrol as killer and they clearly balance it by having weak/unsafe pallets mid map. Which is why it is so important to try to hammer out those gens early on!
