Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

When will dbd receive a better form of anti cheat?

Currently modders/script kiddies run a muck in the game, ruining the fun for both streamers and normal players. In fact, there's a twitch streamer who currently plays with cheaters.

There are games that do a good job of keeping cheaters at bay.

A massive problem is that there is virtually no server side validation in Dead by Daylight. And this in a PvP game for 7 years. Nobody can tell me that this couldn't have been implemented in that time.

Skins, DLC's generate money. Good cheat protection software doesn't do that.
As long as players spend thousands of dollars on skins, this will continue to be the main priority.

    As simple as that.

The video is 5 months old, so I dont know how much "currently" means.

However, cheating is, has always been and will always be an arms race. Currently there are more cheaters than usual, most likely they found another way to cheat (or to be more precise the creators of the cheating software found another way) and BHVR will fix this at some point. And then they will look for the next thing to cheat.

And this is not only a DBD-thing, this happens in every game. Every game, regardless how big it is, has cheaters. Switchting to another form of Anti-Cheat will not change that.

Is annoying how the mere existence of these people eats up so much dev time that could be so much better used elsewhere.

Server-side validation would indeed solve the vast majority of issues.
