Do you agree with this statement?
The more skilled player in the match wins on average.
I ask this because I think there are a significant amount of factors in DBD that lead to a person on either side winning when they didn't actually play more skillful. Essentially things that can get you "wins" that you didn't really earn.

I'd say yes, but dbd has a lot of stupid things that can make you loose.
As demo as example they can destroy you with crouch-teching, it doesn't really matter how good your shreds are if they are always grouched.
As trapper you have a huge disadvantage on any map without grass and thight corridors. So your power could be nearly non-existant.
Maps like eyrie of crows and garden of joy are insane in general regarding loops, so you can't do very much sometimes (not even talking about the bushes that you ALWAYS hit with almost every power).
In the end it's depending on builds, maps, killer and addons. You'll most likely win on a bad map if you have a good build, but if there's too many things staked against you, you'll probably loose.

Kinda what I was thinking as well. I think I'd generally speaking say yes as well, but there are a ton of exceptions that can happen quite often to allow the worse player to still win. So not the majority, but very often. I wish that was less the case.
Like I think tunneling removes skill from the game and will very often net killers wins against groups they were objectively worse than and should have lost.
In that same aspect I also think SWF can very often win games for objectively worse players as well through shear free unintended information and gen efficiency.
Just a couple examples even though there are many more, but even just those two are extremely common in games.

Yes
Well the matchmaking would be too bad anyways to make that work at the moment, so maybe it's good how it is for now haha xD

The question is under what circumstances, both sides bringing their strongest stuff? One side bringing stronger stuff or just your average games with everything happening? I would say because of the many rng factors like map, Gen split, map generation and so on it is hard to say... But I would assume those factors can negate the skill that would otherwise maybe lead to a win..

Well that's why I said on average. So it would be taking all those factors into account.

No
Yeah but average of what type of games? Just overall all matchmaking?
In that case mostly? But like that is such a vague thing...

The average of all your matches.

The results so far seem around what I was expecting. I would probably lean towards the better player wins on average but barely. There are sooo many circumstances that happen regularly which allow the less skilled players to win.

Over time skill will trend upwards. There will still be those moments of unluckiness and gimmick plays but overall skill should trend to its natural place.
