Is cross-progression coming? If so...

I heard cross-progression is coming. Is this true? If so, will there be an implementation for merging? Everything I've ever used is on console over a thousand hours. I play mainly on pc now and haven't played for a good because I don't want to restart everything I've done. But because Vecna is here, I want to enjoy him but I won't play on console, only pc. So if I get vecna on pc and cross-progression shows up, can I put my pc Vecna on console or would I have to restart? Thank you!

yes it’s true! It was stated that all platforms will get cross progression (except mobile as it’s a complete different game and progression system)

There is already an implementation of merging in place between Steam and Epic which will very likely be the same for all platforms.
It may be that you would need to rebuy Vecna on the second platform if you buy he dlc in the platforms store and not in-game with auric cells but the progress (levels and addon/inventory) will be shared between merged accounts. The details will be revealed later this summer along with hopefully a soon time of arrival.
